DVGs a player who's been under the radar a bit since he doesnt have flashy numbers (hard to make a fair assessment as a fan when you only see a few QC games), but it looks like the Flames think highly of him

C2,

I have no problem with DVG on the ice at all. Like sutter says he plays D and can contribute on offense side of things also hes not the greatest stickhandler or the fastest but hes a ton better than Cunning or Vandermeer/Watt at the point. He has decent numbers but he rarely makes mistakes. thats why I like him. That and hes frecky deaky dutch!

yeah, he is great on the PK and a solid scorer. just not sure if he has the ability to really push for an nhl spot. he is 6th in scoring this year which includes 10 points on the PP. i assume he wouldn't see PP time in the nhl on a regular basis, so that would temper his scoring threat a bit. so i don't know if i could see him being a 3rd line guy. also not sure if he has the grittyness to be on a 4th line. he's kind of a tweener that way; maybe not enough offensive upside to be a solid 3rd liner, and not quite the physical type energy player that fits well on a 4th line. heck, if you guys have dustin boyd stuck on the 4th line, i would think there would be some others in line before DVG.

i do like the guy, and he is dynamite on the PK. hopefully he at least gets a shot in the nhl someday.

He needs to put together better camps. The last 2 training camps he's has been awful - and I say this as a guy who has always been a fan of what he brings.
