Cool article. One thing that caught me was:

"MATTHEW CAMPBELL: Campbell, 26, is serving two years for conspiring to traffic firearms. More than 100 guns were seized, including military assault rifles, submachineguns and fully automatic handguns."

2 years? really. 100 guns. You could raise an army with that.

One more.

Although, I suppose it could have just been a gun-o-gram delivery gone wrong.

Really? I drive a '97 Geo Tracker (a very low-end SUV ) with Alberta plates. Glad I have secure undergorund parking at both home and work.

On the gang note, I think one of the best solutions is to have the Solicitor General give more power to Judges and the Crown to keep gang related suspects in custody so there are less of them out on bail. It would be great to keep some of these guys in Pretrial centres instead of having them on the streets.

Ah, yes, can't wait to move to Abbotsford this summer. As much as I hate gated communities, I'll be living with my aunt and uncle in one. Hopefully, I'll be safe in there.

How many members are in the Bacon Bros. gang anyways?

You'll probably be neighbours with them if you live in a gated community. Most of the prominent gang members live in high end communities.

If we all had guns to defend ourselves this would never happen!

Most illogical thing I've ever heard in any argument. How are you going to defend yourself with a gun? As soon as whoever is intimidating you sees a gun, he'll shoot you or you'll shoot him, thereby resulting in a killing. It won't solve any problems.

The 4th Amendment is from a time when people used guns for hunting, now republicans want to keep this ancient crap around.

It's all about mutually assured destruction.

Unless the guy who pulled up beside me has TWO guns... then the only logical solution is for me to have two or more guns.

I should stockpile....

You may be on to something. I'd also look into getting bigger guns.

The female victim shot dead with her kid in the car has, to everyone's surprise, ties to gangs.

Interestingly, the most forthcoming individual cited in the article is her husband's cousin, described only as a 22 year old "businessman," who happens to own a house and recently co-signed with the victim on a 2008 BMW. Which is suspicious in its suspiciousness.

The victim was also friends with the recently gunned down Raphael Baldini - who also was the leaseholder of the Surrey apartment where 6 were killed last year.

Any way you slice it, this particular killing screams "escalation."

Wow, just when you think things can't possibly get any worse, upping the ante to wife and kids will certainly make things a whole lot worse.

Damn straight! I always have my shotgun on hand in case some..........oh you were being sarcastic.

Anyways, I have to say I am of the "eye for an eye" type.
Here is a better idea, why don't they just round up these "known gangsters" and put them in an isolated building that has guns laying around, and let the gangsters all kill eachother. It saves money on police work and cleans up the streets at the same time!

Man am I brilliant.

Plus we could generate funding with PPV receipts.
