There was actually a company in Calgary a few years ago that paid a number of photographers to take shots of every house in every major city in Canada - head on shots. Their goal was to create a massive online directory that realtors would use to sell houses. It was creepy stuff. I searched for my house and sure enough there it was. I don't know what happened to the company but it was weird stuff. .

Maps like that exist for much of the US. There was a magazine last year that was doing an issue on personal security and privacy. They used a service like that and looked up addresses of every single (well, except those living in small towns) on of their subscribers, and then printed an individual cover for each subscriber showing that person's house or apartment building and the phrase 'we know where you live'. Very effective idea, and they won a lot of awards for it.
