Will this be one of those "incidents" that isn't reported by the media (like jumpers)?

I bet they still won't report on it. Dramatic yes, but the media takes suicide very seriously.

I have a hard time feeling sorry for someone who intentionally lights themself on fire, other than a bit of embarassment for them that they thought they'd be proving a point by doing so.

I really hope this thread turns into a debate whether the suicidal deserve sympathy or not.

Hahaha....yeah....thats when things turn for the worst.

This isnt necessarily an issue regarding the suicidal though.

This guy wasn't just fed up and not going to take it anymore, he clearly had a point to make because there are countless better ways to check out with less pain and more privacy.

Self immolation in front of a building tells me that there has to be more to it.

Maybe he was getting audited....although, in my experience, people under audit are several times more likely to set their auditor ablaze than themselves.....its just a self-preservation to hate ratio thing....you know how it is.

There Russic...you see what you've made me do? Now the floodgates are open! Although I only used the word 'sympathy' once.

Feeling bad for and feeling sorry for are two completely different things (even if you were to exclude the fact I was trying to sound sarcastic in my GW post,) but thanks for trying to troll my posts, anyway.
