This is a bit tangential, but man alive... Punk rock and punks have always been such an insane contradiction to me: the whole movement is founded on difference, openness, acceptance, diversity etc. yet everyone I know that even remotely resembles punk are far and away the most closed-minded and elitist when it comes to musical tastes. It's just bizarre.
I once had a roommate who was big into the whole punk scene. And he, and his fellow punk friends who would frequently hang out at the house, had very eclectic musical tastes. Big into not just punk but also Tool, Radiohead along with all sorts of other different stuff. He'd play something like Medeski, Martin & Wood to listen to something different.
I bumped this thread because troutman mentioned it earlier on but I just finished watching TV on the Radio perform on The Colbert Report. They were a bit timid in the interview part but I think a big part of that is Colbert himself, he just cracks jokes and there is little to no real dialogue. In terms of there musical performance I was very impressed.

Colbert's interviews with REM, and Rush were hilarious. Visits by Feist and Willie Nelson were also great.

I hate the pop culture crap. I listen to maybe 10 bands on a regular basis and radiohead is one of them. An amazing band and one I am dying to see live.
Kid A is my favorite by far. Call me crazy but OK Computer for me was just OK.
suck it up nancy, this a thread about Radiohead, am I not allowed to comment on Radiohead and their performance?
Of course not, just do it intelligently, and not comment like an 8 year old would. Though, I've never seen one post from you that would suggest you know how to do that, so whatever.

I gave In Rainbows a try today. I had downloaded it from iTunes back when it first came out, but haven't listened to it start to finish until today. I wore headphones too Fotze. Maybe I'm just one of those that doesn't get it, but I wasn't really blown away. Maybe my expectations are just too high with the way some people talk about them.
