it is a full 90 day schedule of workouts and diet. pencil in about 1-1.5 hours a day for 3 months.
things you will need:
- weights, either a set or adjustable 5, 10, 15, 20, 25 pound is good enough. you may need more if you want more bulk or if you are Jarome Iginla. or substitute with power bands
- pull-up bar, either a door frame or free standing pull up structure. if you go with door frame kind, i recommend the BeachBody one they sell which allows you to do wide grip (Iron Gym will not give you a wide grip) can use bands, but you will need a place up high to 'loop' it
- heart rate monitor, to know you are in the "zone"
- yoga mat/yoga block
that is about it. other than a chair, towel, paper plate...which you should have.
have fun and get ripped.

Ok I asked this question before and I appreciate the response about the pull up bar, but how about the nutrition plan? I understand it is just as important to this regime as the actual training, as with any training program. But what is the price range on a typical week of eating? Does anyone have a good example of a weekly meal plan?
Like I said before, fairly poor student, curious because this would probably hold me back the most.

I will offer $10 for the first used P90x program to end up in the Buy sell forum, in about 6 months from now.

This is my basic diet while on P90x:
Breakfast 6:00am: Usually a bowl of low fat, low sugar cereal or 4-6 egg whites and 2 slices of turkey bacon
Snack 9:30am: banana, rice thin crackers and low fat low granola bar, rasins
Lunch 12:00pm: non fat ham or turkey sandwich with low fat cheese and 2 servings of condiments. (low fat low sodium mayo/mustard), non fat yogurt, celery serving
Snack 2:00pm: baking almonds (no salt, no sugar) low fat cottage cheese, cucumber or carrots
Work out 4:00pm: usually work out after I get home from work
Post workout recovery drink.
Dinner 6:00pm: protein shake, chicken breast, fish, pork etc
Snack: if I feel like something else I will try to scrounge up some more protein and stay away from the carbs because i'm already getting enough in cereal and bread. tuna or some peanut butter will fit the bill. or have a couple of egg whites or something.
I've found that i've had to tweak it a bit because I wasn't getting enough calories. I'm a smaller guy (5'7", 140lbs) and my meal plan was probably doing somewhere in the range of 2200-2400 calories a day.

Whats with all the low-fat stuff? Is the program telling you to eat like that?
Fat can be an essential energy source is used properly.

Yes, i'm aware.
Almonds have a ton of good fat in them, the turkey bacon has fat, and I usually eat a supplement bar every day that has fat in it.
I'm definitely getting fat in my diet. I'm just cutting out the bad fat. I eat low fat cheese, but it is still loaded with fat.
Actually, I designed that off the p90x diet guide for the first phase. So yes, basically it's telling me to eat like that.

Ah, well good that you're still getting fat in your diet.
Give it a few more years, and the whole 'no-fat' myth is going to be gone forever.
Personally, I can't wait.

So if women do this, do they gain a lot of muscle? Not exactly what I'm looking for....

There are three program option: Classic, Doubles, and Lean. Lean is more oriented to women, Classic is for first timers coming off the P90 program and Doubles is for athletes.
Regarding diet, diet overall is important, the diet plan given in the P90x is important for those who are cutting or trimming down, for those bulking up it's only the start, you need to add a lot more calories.

Yes, usually with in 2-3 weeks they start looking like an amazon. At 4 weeks they look like China from the WWF, at 9 weeks they'll look like Micky Rourke off 'The WRestler'.

He is right though. Its a common misconception amongst women especially that if they lift weights, they'll gain muscle.
You only gain muscle if you eat like you want to gain muscle. And its incredibly hard to do for women.

Women who have high levels of testosterone will put on muscle too but the majority of women don't have that issue.

I've read it is more designed for power, not muscle. Apparently you get strong but not big and bulky

What do you guys use as a post workout drink for glycogen replenishment?
I went to a GNC and asked what they could recommend, and unfortunately the two employees there didn't speak any English and just basically pointed at two of the shiny reflective tubs of powder on the wall.
