NBA Sunday
A big Sunday for the NBA today; San Antonio (33-15) v. Boston(42-10) and Los Angeles (40-9) v. Cleveland (39-9)
Boston is coming off of a loss courtesy of the Lakers on Thursday, in an intense and very tight overtime game, but managed to redeem themselves with a win against the Knicks the following evening. San Antonio has been very good as of late, winning 8 of their last 10. Gregg Popovich decided to sit his 3 stars in favour of rest against Denver on Tuesday and the bench couldn't get it done losing, 104-96. This should be a great game from the last two NBA champs.
Cleveland looks to put their incredible 23-0 home record against Kobe and the Lakers today and what a way to cap off one of the best weeks in NBA history. On Monday, Kobe torches the Knicks for 61, the most in MSG history. Then on Wednesday, Lebron showed us he could hang with 52 points and 11 assists of his own. At first, he had the triple-double with 10 rebounds, but the NBA took back a rebound and awarded it to Ben Wallace. Regardless, it's been an incredible week and the two most-dynamic superstars in the NBA are going head-to-head at 1:30p(mtn) today.
An exciting afternoon is ahead for basketball fans and since I am under the weather on such a beautiful day, I couldn't ask for anything more.
Is anyone else watching?

Kobe vs Lebron should be a great match up. Both of them went into the Garden earlier this week and torched the Knicks although I see the NBA took away King James 50 point triple double when they awarded one of his rebounds to Ben Wallace. Cleveland is a bit peeved that no one on their team besides James is going to the Allstar game whereas teams like the Celtics have mutiple players. So I think the Cavs will use this as motivation as well.

I'm not what you'd call a b-ball fan, but I did see Kobe say, "I don't give a rats ass" when asked about Lebron earlier in the week. Is there a more selfish SOB in pro sports right now than Kobe Bryant?

Close one with Boston and San Antonio... Roger "Robert Horry" Mason and Matt Bonner have gotten the Spurs the lead with under a minute in the game.

George Hill had a good game. Didn't catch what happened to him.

Kobe did say that in Toronto the other night when they told him Lebron had put up a 50 point triple double agaist the Knicks. A question along the lines of what do you think of what Lebron just did....Kobe says I don't give a rats arse what he did or something close to it.
Really I can't fault him for not caring what anohter player or team did. Reporters asking him a question after his game about another game are just looking to stir up trouble. He's not wrong to be more concerned with himself and his own team.

The Spurs hold on and give Boston another loss at home. TD with 23 and 13... And Matt Bonner with a stellar 23 and 8 - I guess his moms' home-cooked meal did him good. Garnett showed up with 26 and 12... All defensive boards.
LA @ Cleveland underway...

Chris Mihm getting some burn! I guess with Radmanovic gone to Charlotte, Phil needed some big bodies out there.

10 point lead for the QuickenLoans faithful. Mo williams leading the way with 17 points and a strip off Kobe at the end of the half. Even scoring between the Lakers' big three and Lebron, much like Kobe, looking like they're holding back. Should be an interesting second half.

Cleveland's home winning streak ends with LA overcoming a 12-point deficit at the start of the 2nd half. Lamar Odom picks up the slack from an ill, Kobe Bryant and puts out a season high, 28 points along with 17 rebounds. Lebron had a dismal shooting game going 5-for-20 from the field and 4 of 8 from the free throw line. He did however finish with a team high 12 points.
A statement game for the Lakers, who now hold the season series against Boston and Cleveland.

Cleveland's total assists for the game? Steve Nash's total against Detroit in a meaningless game between two teams who's relevance in the NBA has waned over the last few seasons? Meh.
