Not that I really care, but is it fair to accuse Coldplay of poaching Radiohead's sound.... when they evidence is Coldplay's first album (which was 9 years ago) is comparable to a Radiohead album that came out 16 years ago? I'd say its fair to say that they may have been influenced by Radiohead... but I don't think they are stealing their sound. Coldplay's recent works sounds nothing like anything Radiohead have done.
Personally, I think all the comparisons come from the fact they both have been called 'The Biggest band in the world'.... and they are both british. People natrually feel compelled to compare them.

Did anyone else see that Li'l Wayne feller? If this music thing doesn't turn out I think he's a shoe-in for Gremlins 3.

You're right it was pretty strange. Good thing the Grammy's also have more straightfoword conventional music styles. I'm sure you loved the Jonas Brothers performance.

I will never understand why liking a certain type of music makes another type bad. Music shouldn't be mutually exclusive, I don't like metal at all I know I never will but I don't bash it. I know a lot of people who I have respect and admiration for who love metal. I can also the respect the talent it takes to make some metal music.

lol...none of those heavy metal bands were "faggy" at all. Just ask Rob Halford of Judas Priest.

LOL! Not a huge Radiohead fan, I don't mind a few of their songs, but I'm a little old to be labelling music fans and whatnot. I'll leave that to the kids. Like what you like, hate what you hate, who really cares?

Ha, no doubt. And don't forget all the men wearing spandex pants and the audience being 95% male.
But the point is true. A lot of headbanging types do see stuff like Radiohead as "fag music".

Yeah it does, which is sad because I really enjoy some country.
I grew up listening to the stuff so it will always have a place on my iPod but for it's been bad for awhile now.

Pop Country is brutal, worst trash out there. Some new country music is great though. Hank3 and Corb Lund are fantastic artists.

Yeah good point Corb Lund is fantastic. I guess when I hear the words "new country" the frist thing that comes to mind is "pop country".

Haha true. But the media has annointed Radiohead and Coldplay as such. The Gallagher brothers self-proclaimed title as 'the world's biggest ****** rock band' doesn't count!
On a completely unrelated note, I'm extremely surprised Mr. Kanye West only took one minor potshot at the grammy's last night. Two performances from him...and one little shot? I expected more out of Kanye and his mullet!!

They'd punch you out for saying that.
Actually, only one of the brothers would, then the other would take offense for you and they start brawling, then announce the band is done....until the next album comes out.
Rinse, repeat.

There is a "Fag Music" trickle down (no pun intended). My older brother liked the Police and a whole wack of pommie new wave stuff.
I liked Michael Jackson (this was elementary school) and that meant I liked "Fag Music".

My older brother was in a punk band when I was in grade 7, so I started a punk band. I wasn't allowed to like "fag music" either (which was everything except 'real' punk, none of that Fat Wreck Chords crap). I secretly kept rocking out my Zeppelin, AC/DC, Motley Crue et al. records, and eventually came to my senses.
This is a bit tangential, but man alive... Punk rock and punks have always been such an insane contradiction to me: the whole movement is founded on difference, openness, acceptance, diversity etc. yet everyone I know that even remotely resembles punk are far and away the most closed-minded and elitist when it comes to musical tastes. It's just bizarre.

That reminds me. First couple weeks of college I was hanging out with my neighbor in the dorms, I asked him if he had heard Radiohead. He said he hated that "heroine" music. I laughed and told him Radiohead doesn't do hard drugs. He then told me I should listen to punk music. Yeah I listen to the heroine music.
