So one of my guilty pleasures is to lurk HF Oilers board after a big ass whooping. Especially being down 6-0, then coming back 6-3, I could almost see them going suicidal and thinking they were going to give up 10 again, then getting all psyched with the glimmer of hope when they come back with 3 goals thinking they were going to make a big comback, only to have their tiny glimmer of light put out when Detriot buried them with 2 more. (Its not just the loss, but the manner its done to give them hope, then crush it: awsome.)
Came across some beauties in the meantime:

****ing roloson and his stupid ****ing antics. What kind of a man intentionally stabs another man in the balls. It is just pathetic. We will lose the game because of that play.

I remember getting into it with some of the posters at Calgarypuck about prospects and getting into it over Schremp. One of them told me that Schemp wasn't that good a prospect and that Dustin Boyd was going to play sooner and have a better career than Robbie. I couldn't believe what I was reading and told the guy he was an idiot and didn't know anything about prospects. You know what? It looks like he was right. Schremp doesn't appear to have the talent and Boyd is proving he can play in any situation. What if this is the truth of the matter and we have completely unreasonable estimates of our prospects too? I get sick thinking about it.
We talk a lot about our future, but what about our future? Does it look that good? Is it any better than anyone else's? Is it better than the Flames? Yeah, we have Schremp, Eberle and Nash up front but they have Backlund, Nemisz and Wahl. Backlund looked pretty good in his limited play last night against the Islanders, which made me shake my head in disbelief. I thought this guy was done based on reports here at HF. On the blueline we have Petry, Chorney and Peckham but they have Aulie, Negrin, Pelech and Baldwin. To make matters worse they have Pardy stepping in this year and looking pretty good, and an already young franchise defenseman in Phaneuf. In goal things look bleak. We have Dubnyk and ??? The Flames have Irving, Keetley and Lalande. Their system is supposed to be complete crap but when you actually look at it they have some pretty decent prospects at every position. If our future is supposed to look bright what does that say about the Flames? I guess we can be lucky the Canucks prospects aren't that good, or are they?
This has been a really tough week. We're about to hit the half way mark of the season and we're havng trouble seeing the glass half anything. We're 13 points behind the Flames! Behind the freakin' Flames! Can it get worse? I guess. We're two points out of the final playoff spot, but we're two points out of 14th spot too. Where is the silver lining in all of this? We've got a screwed salary structure, a bunch of untradable players, and no where to go fast. At lease we can drink!

Oh, and the beautiful story:

Why does the oppposition broadcast always bash the Oilers. It's getting ridiculous and classless.

ffs. why does detroit even bother putting a goalie in? they have 4 goals and we have 3 shots...

This is why I hated the blue squares, because I had one and basically just got ignored from that point on. It made me look like a troll too.

I didn't really pay attention to the blue square because they weren't done very objectively. I had a couple of blue squares for stuff that some senior posters did on a regular basis.

I really don't like business cards. I should probably order some but I have no interest in them. If I were to get them, what would I do with them? Do I carry a bunch around in my wallet? I have a hard enough time keeping that thing from looking like it belongs to George Costanza as it it.
And when people give me their card, 99% of the time I know as soon as I get it that it will either be lost or thrown out in a week. My impression of a business card is that it's something given out by sleazy car salesmen. If your information is important, send me an email, I'll store it in my contacts and I'll have a better chance of finding it when I need it that way.

My friend texted me yesterday and wanted to hang out but I was already doing something and had plans later. She got pissed off at me because I had plans and couldn't hang out... WTF?!?

So I signed a contract last year with my roommate/landlady (she ownes the house and lives in it) that I would rent my room until the end of May. I didn't pay any deposit and basically just pay her month by month.
Would it be a huge no-no if I was to leave at the end of March?

I wish I could say you were completely right... If she's into me, she wouldn't have dumped me in the first place... the jealous type, yep, she is showing signs of that.

So your plans that didn't include her, did they involve a playoff game?

Huge? Maybe.
Can she do a thing about it? Probably not.
Why would you want to move out in March?

I hate it how COOP asks for your Membership card before the cashier will start. Its annoying as hell to get that card while I am putting my grocers on the conveyer belt. Safeway doesnt do that, neither does Sobeys. Costco does but thats because you need a card to shop their. You dont need one at COOP.

Rats. The kitchen sink is plugged and Drano ain't getting the job done. So now I gotta snake it. Except that last time I did that the clog was about 10 feet further than my snake would reach and I had to call a plumber anyway. No doubt it's the same song and dance this time. Oh well, that's life in Murphy's World I guess.

Well if you did sign a contract with her, she might have issues if you don't have someone to take your place

Yeah. I guess I could just suck it up and pay her for April and May if I decide to leave in March. That way I could avoid anything messy.
Edit: I just checked our rental agreement and it looks like we only agreed to 60 days notice. Since the end date wasn't written anywhere (and this isn't a lease), I'm pretty sure I can leave early if I want.
Also, the usual rules of landlord/tenant don't apply because this is shared accommodations.

Is she a reasonable person though? Who knows, maybe she has people wanting to move in but they can't, because you're still there. You could be doing her a favour, you never know. I'd still try to talk to her, and explain that you have found a new place which is better for you.
