I know that it is now possible to "spoof" your outgoing call display info.

Could be a telemarketer who's auto dial isn't working. Next time they call pick up the phone and then hang it up within 1/2 a second. That sometimes registers on their end as a non-working number.

Google it to find details.

I have been receiving those calls for months. It goes in cycles. Coming from different phone numbers.

I once actually talked to somebody. You qualify if you have credit card with over 10,000 on them at 18% or more. I don't qualify because I have lower interest rate credit cards. So the person was dumbfounded when I said that. They didn't understand. I asked to be removed from the list. But the calls still happen.

Hmmm, did I type into the google toolbar 8881111110 to see who this was and the first page of results was classic google non help.

Or did I create a new thread on CP of which I hate people who create useless threads in the Flames forum like "Messier might be returning to NHL".

Hmmmm.

Found on the first page when I googled it.

Received a call from this number on my Cell. Automated message that went as follows:

"Hi, this is Lisa from Credit Card Services. This is our third attempt to contact you. Our records indicate that you're paying too much interest on your credit card. We have a limited time offer that would allow you to cut your interest payments in half. To take advantage of this offer, Press 1. To be removed, Press 3."

I have no dealings with any company called "Credit Card Services", and I'm certain they don't have any records of my credit card transactions

Long story short, I hung up.

I think that is the number where it rings, you answer and it hangs up. The event is recorded into a database. Once they have enough data, your number and 'profile' is sold so telemarketers know when to call you. Better to have people call when they know you will answer!!! I don't answer calls unless I am absolutely sure who is calling now.

The Best site I found to find out what telemarketers called you is
800notes.com

This number looks likes its a scam to get your credit card number in order to "consolidate" your debts.
