Default Wedding Bands

Well the Wedding is 6 months away and we'll be looking for our wedding bands soon.

Guy's, what kind of band did you pick? Anything in particular that I should be looking for? Do you wear your ring 24/7 or do you take it off for work/sports?

Try to get your band with a "comfort fit" (I think that is what it is called). The inside of the ring is curved. I never wore a ring before I was married as they were uncomfortable, but I have worn this one for almost 15 years and have had no problems.

The fiancee just got her's from some place in Chinook. They had a 1/2 off sale and we got a custom made band made that we're really happy with. $750 or something. For me, I had something picked out from the Alberta Diamond Exchange on 17th. It was a tungsten(?) ring, really nice. But since the incident happened there, we've not heard from them and I'm too scared to call.

I'm in the same boat. I've never worn rings because I hate them. I don't want something blingy at all. I'll have to ask around for comfort fits now.

yes, comfort fit is pretty comfortable. yet, i only wear it on occasion (special events)

I went with a titanium band with a carbon fibre insert. about $300

I took mine off one day to rake my back lawn, lost the damn thing and never found it. I now wear a cheapo $40 one that I bought from Metal Smith and haven't lost it in two years. I take mine off quite a bit and will even go a couple days without wearing it. I never wore rings though before, and never really got used to it. My suggestion would be to get a cheapo every day use one if your wife insists you have to wear something on that finger and maybe a bit nicer one for special occasions that you'll store somewhere.

I have a tungsten carbide ring. I only take it off when I am doing any kind of physical activity because if something happens to my hand, the only way to get it off is to remove my finger first.

Very nice, but the wife is worried about me being able to get the ring off if something happens. Stupid logical women

Just make sure it is the right size and try and find a similar cheapo ring to wear before hand to see if you can stand wearing it. Before we got married I wore a couple different styles until I found one I liked. One was so thick it actually hurt my fingers when I closed my fist, another had kinda square edges that was really uncomfortable.

The one we chose was kinda rounded on the inside and slightly more rounded on the outside. I don't know if it is what other posters have been calling 'comfort fit' but it sure feels right. I wear my ring whenever I am not working outside. 24/7 and it only ever bothers me if my hands swell due to heat.

Titanium and tungsten might be ok for the men, but due to the difficulty in resizing I would not recommend it for the brides band.

You know us women, weight and water (retention) vary greatly over the years.

Hire a DJ. Wedding bands are always bad.

Carbon Fiber? What is it too heavy for you to carry around?

(It does look pretty cool)

If so, you might have more worries than what wedding band to pick.

Let me chime in on the "comfort band" ring. That's where they fill in the front of the ring so it won't fill in with water etc. and it makes a big difference. I didn't wear a ring the first three or four years of marriage because my ring just wasn't comfortable. My wife took the ring back and had the comfort band installed and now I've worn it without thinking for years. Until now.

Id caution against titanium and other super hard ones. In a medical emergency, they can't cut them off.

Don't bother getting the dual tone rings (brushed metal and polished metal). It will all look the same in a few months.
