Default Making Japanese Cyborgs- cool robot suit

Having searched CP I believe this to not be a fata, and I further believe it to be a very cool non-fata. Who would not want a robot suit that reads your mind to move and increases your strength by as much as ten times!?!
You can already get this in Japan!!

Quote:
TSUKUBA, Japan - A robotic suit that reads brain signals and helps people with mobility problems will be available to rent in Japan for $2,200 a month starting Friday — an invention that may have far-reaching benefits for the disabled and elderly.

Quote:
When you want to move your body, your brain sends out an electric signal that is received by your muscles, which then contract, thus producing motion. This electric signal travels to the muscles via the body's nerves, generating a slight voltage of electricity on the surface of the skin. This is known as a bioelectric signal, and Robot Suit HAL detects them using the sensors placed around the wearer's body. Depending on the voltage running the surface of the skin, the computer inside Robot Suit HAL analyzes the signal and sets the appropriate motors in motion.

I can just imagine the potential of this mechanism for people like my grandpa who is too weak to move by himself now, and people like myself who want to feel like cool macho superheros.

Edit: here is the website of the company that makes it

10 times the strength eh.

I'd like to rent one for a day, and walk around doing the Darth Vader interrogations from Star Wars.

"Where are the plans they sent you"

"What plans"

Wasn't HAL the computer that went crazy in A Space Odyssey? And Cyberdyne the company that created Skynet, which ultimately caused a nuclear holocaust and enslaved the human race with its cyborg creations in Terminator?

Cool stuff nonetheless. Nice find.

Those were actually two of the first thoughts that came to my mind reading about this too.

Yeah, who's idea was it to name a robotic suit that controls everything you do after a robot that murdered a bunch of people it had control over?
