Default "Joe the Plumber" now a GOP strategist...

http://news.yahoo.com/s/politico/18379

Quote:
Wesley Denton, communications director for Sen. Jim DeMint (R-S.C.), whose office coordinates the group, said, “I think staffers were happy to have him there and hear his perspective. He’s an interesting person for staffers to hear from, and it certainly helps us get an understanding about how the stimulus debate is playing out in the country with regular folks.”

Are these people brain-dead? "Joe" the Plumber is exactly the sort of person the GOP should be staying far, far away from if they don't want to spend the next 10 years wandering in the wilderness. Has anyone ever been this famous for doing so little before?

Well, Paris Hilton, I guess....

Wow that is nuts. For several weeks before the election a local bar put up a sign "Joe the Plumber drinks here". This morning I noticed a new sign "Joe the Plumber drinks here again". Now I know why.

Haven't they realized that he is not only a liar, but also an idiot?

This guy has managed to turn a ridiculous and obviously staged encounter with Obama, mediated by the GOP into fame. The GOP goes on to lose the election, and thinking people feel that Obama effectively addressed "Joe's" concerns right off the bat, and the GOP thinks he has something to tell them. Wow...

I don't think he is very common at all, and if he is then there is bigger trouble ahead.

Who is to say Joe the Plumber hasn't made a sex video? Think about that for a while.

Joe the Plumber and the resurgence of Rush Limbaugh!

The GOP has finally secured the white male over 45 vote that has alluded them so desperately over the years!

The only thing I know of Joe the Plumber is what I've learned here.

Seriously.

300 million people in the USA and the best they can do is "Joe the Plumber"? There must be literally millions of "regular guys" who are actually articulate and have some grasp of political issues beyond what this buffoon does.

Heck there are only a couple people in the political threads here that I wouldn't pick as a "consultant" over Joe. You might as well grab some random hobo off the street and let him rant, at least it would be entertaining.
