Maybe it's a bit touristy, but St. John Island in the Caribbean. Have been there once, and have never seen anything more beautiful. You could see clear to the ocean floor, and the people were awesome.

I believe this is Makapu'u Beach, not Sunset (or maybe it has 2 names). I was there 2 years ago and will concur, great beach.
I gotta agree with the OP, but I'm biased. Had a nice clear view of Mt. Baker today.
runners up - the Kona side of Hawaii and the BC Gulf Islands. I'd love to see New Zealand.

Moorea in French Polynesia. Kauai was very similar to it.

Mauritius. Beautiful island in the middle of the Indian Ocean. Gorgeous beaches, jungle, and the people are great - a mix of African, Indian, Asian, European, and whoever else stopped by and couldn't leave. If I ever went back, I probably wouldn't be able to leave, either.

Lived in Puerto Ordaz, just outside of Ciudad Guyana on the Orinoco and Caroni rivers. At one point, the Orinoco is about 5 miles across. Makes the rivers in North America look like Nose Creek.
We did a couple of vacations while we were there. Went to the beach resort town Cumana (we were supposed to go to Margarita Island but there was a big jewel heist and they shut down the ferry). We also went down to a place called El Dorado, deep in the jungle. Took a ride on a dugout canoe, my brother thinks we may have even got into Guyana but I'm not positive on that. Looks like the road goes almost all the way to Brazil now, it stopped at El Dorado when we lived there.
I've been to a lot of amazing places. I love pretty much anywhere that's mountainous, that's why I moved to Calgary. Beaches in Hawaii, Costa Rica, jungles, etc. I couldn't pick just one.

Did you do all the islands? Or just stick to one of the villages? I haven't been back there in...3? 4? years...use to live in Terrace...just inland. But I'm hoping to head back there this fall to bike across the islands.

Second best snorkeling behind Molokini crater.

The snorkeling is indeed awesome. Would do it again in a heart beat.

San Francisco is still my favorite place in the world...and not for the obvious reasons. I also like the drive along the Pacific Coast Highway from Big Sur up past Muir woods and such.
Every day I see the roomie's pics of an Andean valley in Colombia he hiked in. To me it appears to be the most beautiful place on earth, with 150 foot palm trees and every shade of green imaginable. Can't remember the name for the life of me.

Which highway is that? I'd love to give it a drive, I'm 40 minutes from San Fran in non-rush hour.

I flew into Sandspit and then headed over to Queen Charlotte City (I think they dropped the City part of the name and just call it Queen Charlotte...considering it only has 1000 people living there). The landscape was amazing and reminded me of when I lived in an outport in Newfoundland but it was definitely prettier than where I lived. Far, far too short of a visit (just a few days) to get a chance to see enough of the area.

I forget the name, but I went to the coolest German town when I was doing a Castle Tour from Munich. Quintessentially German, everything about it. That whole tour was awesome, seeing the German countryside. Austria as a whole is pretty nice as well. Then of course B.C. is beautiful.

Yes, that island was awesome. Watched the sunset with about 500 other people on the top of people's houses. Beautiful island.

Pacific Coast Highway is US Highway 1.
I agree it's a great drive, but I think the Oregon coast blows it away.

Amazing, amazing, amazing country. If I could afford it I would go back every year. It does suck paying 15$ for a Big Mac meal though
