I'm more worried that when I pee, I'm hitting the shower curtain behind me.

Crash and Bang Winger

After a work trip I took to Mexico City a few years back, I developed severe pains in my gut and then came the "red stream". I self-diagnosed myself (along with the help of my then girlfriend) by surfing the web. I was 100% sure that I had a parasite, and was freaked out by all the potential implications of as much. After a very traumatizing 6 hours in the waiting room, the doctor checked me out and quickly came to the conclusion that....
... I'd eaten too many red beats with dinner the night before, which can apparently change the color of your urine (as can red cabbage).

I'm not sure if you could do it yourself, I've never tried.
Seriously.. go to a freaking doctor!

Thanks for the responses everyone. I went to the doctor, and after nearly 6 hours there, they came to the conclusion that it was probably some internal bleeding from my ball hockey game. I am pretty sore today, but my urine is once again clear.

I didn't read through it all, but from your conclusion, I'm glad to hear you seem to be alright.

Well, that's also what my doctor told me too. The thing is, I never had it before my trip to Mexico. Within a week or two of coming back - that's when the symptoms started. I have never been as violently ill from eating anything, as I was that time in Mexico. Now, the two things may not be related, but, it's very suspicious that the symptoms start right after that incident in Mexico.
I realize that even if I get rid of it this time, it may come back. It just has to be monitored.

It was just too tempting to change his user title. Too crude?

I think "P of Red" would be a little more tactful, but that would be no fun.
