If it makes you feel any better, whatever you find on the internet seems to be worst case scenario, I wouldn't freak out too much with what you find.. When I got back from Mexico a few months ago I brought back with me a fun little bout with Monteczuma's Revenge. According to the internet, I would be anywhere from ridiculously sick for a couple weeks to on my deathbed within a couple days. Neither happened. Just lettin ya know so you dont hyperventilate while you research, I know the feeling.
Blood in the urine can come from any condition that results in infection, inflammation, or injury to the urinary system.
Typically, microscopic hematuria indicates damage to the upper urinary tract (kidneys), while visible blood indicates damage to the lower tract (ureters, bladder, or urethra). But this is not always the case.
The most common causes in people younger than 40 years of age are kidney stones or urinary tract infections.
These may also cause hematuria in older people, but cancers of the kidney, bladder, and prostate become a more common concern in people older than 40 years of age.
Several conditions causing hematuria may exist at the same time.
Some causes of hematuria are serious, others are not. Your healthcare provider will perform tests to help tell the difference.
The well-known causes of blood in the urine include the following:
Kidney stones
Infections of the urinary tract or genitals
Blockage of the urinary tract, usually the urethra - by a stone, a tumor, a narrowing of the opening (stricture), or a compression from surrounding structures
Cancer of the kidney, bladder, or prostate
Kidney disease
Blood clotting disorders
Injury to the upper or lower urinary tract, as in a car accident or a bad fall
Medications - Antibiotics [for example, rifampin (Rifadin)], analgesics such as aspirin, anticoagulants [blood thinners such as warfarin, (Coumadin)], phenytoin (Dilantin), quinine (Quinerva, Quinite, QM-260)
Inflammation of the kidney - usually of unknown cause
Strenuous exercise, especially running - results from repeated jarring of the bladder
Sometimes no cause is found for blood in the urine.
If serious conditions such as cancer, kidney disease, and other chronic diseases that cause kidney damage or bleeding are ruled out, the cause is usually not serious.
The hematuria will probably go away by itself or continue as a chronic condition without doing harm. Any changes should immediately trigger a return visit and evaluation by your healthcare provider.
Urine can be colored pink, red, or brown for reasons that have nothing to do with bleeding in the urinary tract:

GET IT CHECKED OUT. This should not even be a question. If you leave it, there's always the chance you could be making a serious problem worse. If it is something that will go away, going to the hospital won't make it worse. It's just silly to allow a fear/distaste for hospitals/doctors increase your risk of serious problems.

Did they detect it in your stool? Because I went for a sample and I'm clean. I'm skedded to go for some bloodwork, but I seem to be in the clear right now anyways. May I ask what type of symptoms you're still experiencing?

No - there was blood in my stool. But, if you have something else, they would find it in your stool sample or if you have an endoscopy, they may find something there. They only detected what I have (ulcerative collitus (sp), with a colonscopy. It took a long time to get in to get one (long waiting list), so that's why I've been putting up with this for so long. It's not serious, but if I don't do something about it, it could lead to Cancer.
Anyway, hopefully this next series of treatments will cure what I have. Thankfully there are no other symptoms.

Thanks for the tip bud, man that sucks! I'm actually going back to Mexico in June with my girlfriend, safe to say I'm a little apprehensive about it. It's an all-inclusive resort so I'll just eat everything at the resort, and not in town. And if I get any booze in town, I'll DEFINITELY only get bottled stuff(I'm sure I got this when I ordered a margherita in town, due to the ice being from their local water. Stupid stupid)...and I'm totally getting a needle before I go. I did not have an appreciation for how dangerous it can be.

I actually got sick on one of the dishes they had at the all inclusive resort we were at in Cancun. Just a word of advice - always, always make sure food that is supposed to be hot is still hot and not just warm - and always try and get something that they just bring out of the kitchen rather than something that has been sitting out for a while.
Are you sure it is blood? Didn't fotze or someone once eat alot of beets and then panic about his pee? Your handle is Flamesdyehard, maybe you have exposed yourself to too much red dye No. 3.
Small amounts of blood are normal and may not mean anything. But usually not enough to be visible.
How long between urinations?
Are you male or female? woman are more likely to have a urinary tract infection (either way there would be some pain involved with this).
Are you on any medications? eaten anything unusual lately?
Not to alarm you but it would be best to contact your doctor. Or at the very least Health link (if available).

I had a major UTI (I'm a guy) about 7 years ago. They couldn't figure out what was wrong with me because I felt absolutely zero pain. Low grade fever and chronic fatigue were my two major symptoms.

Clearly, avoiding the doctor and relying on a hockey forum is the best course of action. Just keep doing what you're doing. If you see more blood, it means it's working...
Without a doubt you have a parasite that crawled up your pee-pee. The doctor's will have to use a catheter to extract the little bugger, and he's probably got spines all over him so he'll rip up your urethra on the way out. Should be quite lovely. I'm not sure if you could do it yourself, I've never tried.

The last two times I've gone to urinate, there has been blood in it. It doesn't hurt or anything, should I be concerned? What could the problem be? I am kind of scared.
Blood in urine!? Could be kidney problems, could be internal bleeding. Probably is internal bleeding. Go to a doctor.

ulcerative colitis isn't something you just catch from something you eat in mexico, the reverse is actually true, it's alot more prevalent in Canada then Mexico. It's also something in all likelyhood you could be dealing with for the rest of your life and in your position i'd highly recommend doing alot more reading into it.
i got a similar situation last year while travelling in some hardcore 3rd world countries in Africa... i thought it would just go away, but kept getting worse. after a week i couldnt go longer then 10 without feeling the need to really go take a whizz, but everytime i went nothing would come out except blood and some urine. Once i got to London, went to see a doctor, who gave me some anti-biotics and it went away within 3 days. im pretty sure he said it was a urinary tract infection.
