I also have met GSP and Roberto Luongo through my cousin who is close friends with both. Among the others i have had the honor to meet

			Nothing major.
 Sarich
 Cassie Cambell
Stephen Harper - right after he lost the election to Martin IIRC. I told him it was BS and that I voted for him and that he should be the next PM. It worked.

 Preston Manning
 Henry Burris
 Khari Jones
 Jesus
Danielle Goyette - won like 7 World Championships and an Olympic Gold medal with the womens team. It was after Game 3 or 4 against SJ in 04 on the train. I recognized her, started chatting her up and all the other train people around were pretty amazed that she had won so much cool hardware. I asked her if she ever got tired of whupping US asses every year and she said no, especially after the 98 Olympics when they lost Gold.

Met Bret Hart, the chick I was with didn't know who he was, so I referenced the Simpsons episode he was on and she instantly remembered. It was right after his stroke so he wasn't the most jubilant.

Met the Trailer Park Boys, in character long before they were famous.

Quite a few MM VJs. I was at a club with one and doing blow came up, I passed.

I sat next to Danny Devito on a shuttle bus at Frankfurt airport between terminals (he's so short his feet were dangling, not touching the ground). I said hello and he said hi back. He had a hat and sunglasses on, so I'm pretty sure he didn't want to be recognized, so I didn't bother him any further. I dunno if that counts as meeting someone.
I sat at the table next to Dennis Rodman in a restaurant in South Beach. He's pretty hard to miss. Ashley Simpson was there too (different table). I didn't talk to either though.

That's all I have to tell. Very exciting stuff, I know.

Since highschool my musical inspiration has come from Matt Good. Not a blockbuster like some of the ones listed, but to me meeting Matt Good was like meeting the Rolling Stones.
He was playing a show in Banff and my wife and I were driving around looking for a spot and we notice he is sitting out front of his motel walking a puppy. We pull over and are forced to make a huge decision. He carries with him a reputation with the media of being something of a dick. I've never heard too many actual first hand accounts, but the "I know a guy who knew him and he's a dick" stories are plentiful. The way I see it is this: I can either go say hi and if he's a ######bag then my musical identity will pretty much be obliterated, or I can stay in the car and regret this forever.

I decide to go say hello to him and greet his puppy. I asked to shake his hand and he very graciously accepts. We had a good conversation about his dog and he even walked us a couple blocks to better explain the location of the venue. He ends the conversation with a "thanks so much for saying hi and I really hope you both enjoy the show".

Probably a nothing moment to anybody else, but for me it was THE experience of my musical life.

How did you meet all these people? I may have missed what your field of work is, or where you live or something.

That's quite the impressive list.

nice story, Russic. I think some of the "he's a dick..." people are just ones who are tired of some members of the media.

Met all of them through work. There are more I just can't think of them right now. I really need to start writing them down.

A few years back i was visiting my brother in Minneapolis. We decided earlier that week that we were going to fly to Chicago to watch a Bears game. Coming home we were sitting in the Northwest Airlines World Perks Club minding our own business when in walks boxing legend - Muhammad Ali - his wife and what looked like a couple of his kids. They sat in the same seating area as us. A bunch of Northwest employees brought in their cameras and started snapping pictures with him. He was very gracious and patient and had time for each of them. He never said a word the whole time. Once they all left him alone he started reading the newspaper so we didn't bother him for another photo. His wife gave us the nod like she appreciated us leaving him alone. All in all, still a very cool experience.

Adam Sandler, caught him walking out of Rockerfeller Plaza and had a few words, he and Chris Farley were waiting for a cab. Told him I just bought his comedy album and he mentioned just coming back from BC, later I realized he was shooting Happy Gilmore. Very friendly dude, thanked me for buying his album.
Peter Steele from Type O Negative, sat down with him for well over an hour having drinks and food backstage in Boise, ID. The guy had some incredible stories, very surreal sitting down with one of my favorite musicians.
