Great video GS! Stan Johnathon was a mean SOB in his day and great fighter. The fact that Moose took hin on says something about Andre.

Btw here's a clip of what Moose was up against

Great pick Jagger!
That's what I was wondering too. I had to check a few times to make sure he was still available. It seems like a bit of steal at this position.

Holy smokes is this draft ever rolling...with our 10th round pick, the Bawlf Blawkhawks would like to select Babe Dye in the position of Right Wing

Cecil Henry "Babe" Dye (May 13, 1898 – January 2, 1962) was a Canadian professional ice hockey forward who played 11 seasons in the National Hockey League for the Toronto St. Pats, Chicago Black Hawks, New York Americans and Toronto Maple Leafs. He was the NHL's top goal scorer of the 1920s and is a member of the Hockey Hall of Fame. He also played professional baseball and played football with the Toronto Argonauts.

Three times between 1920 and 1925 Dye led the league in scoring. He twice scored goals in 11 consecutive games and in the 1924-25 season he counted 38, a Toronto record that stood for 35 years, until Frank Mahovlich entered the NHL. In his first six seasons, Dye scored a remarkable 176 goals in just 170 games, a pace that wasn't equaled until Wayne Gretzky came along in the 1980s and rewrote the NHL record book. Because of his weak skating combined with his high scoring, Dye always had an unbalanced goals-to-assists ratio. During his career, he scored 202 goals but made only 41 assists.

After a few games with Smythe's Maple Leafs in 1930-31, he retired for good with the best goals-to-games ratio in the history of the game.

So just a reminder (in case you were confused by all the trades):

the next picks are Stray (from the trade with Prototype), Cyclone (from the trade with Tiger), then Superflyer

Yup! Thanks cyclone!

And a reminder that the current round draft order is always on the front page.

With the 170th selection in the CP All-Time Hockey Draft, StrayBullet selects, Dave Taylor (LW).

Dave Taylor played left-wing for the legendary, Triple Crown line. A fine scorer from his days with the Los Angeles Kings, Taylor has amassed 1069 points and has played (1111) the most games.

Cyclones are happy to select as Left Wing-3, John Leclair

LeClair was drafted by the Montreal Canadiens with the 33rd pick in the 1987 NHL Entry Draft after graduating from Bellows Free Academy (B.F.A.) High School in St. Albans, Vermont. One of the most highly recruited hockey players in New England, Leclair put his NHL aspirations on hold to attend the University of Vermont on a full scholarship. After the final game of his senior year he signed with the Canadiens and, less than a week later, played and scored in his first NHL game. As a member of the Canadiens, LeClair was on the Stanley Cup-winning team in 1993, where he scored two overtime game-winning goals during the Stanley Cup Finals.

On February 9, 1995, Montreal traded LeClair to the Philadelphia Flyers LeClair gelled immediately with new line-mate Eric Lindros and quickly became one of the NHL's most feared goal scorers.
With the Flyers he played left-wing on the famed "Legion of Doom" line, centered by Lindros and Mikael Renberg on right-wing. The trio was not only effective at scoring but they were also a dominant physical presence on the ice. In 1998, LeClair became the first American-born NHL player to record three consecutive 50-goal seasons and the second Flyer to do so, behind Tim Kerr. Following the 1997–98 NHL season, LeClair had two consecutive 40 goal seasons. LeClair played for the Flyers for 10 seasons and was one of the most productive players in franchise history, scoring 382 career goals and an additional 42 in the playoffs, statistics good enough for top 10 in the history of Flyers goal scorers.

LeClair signed a two year deal with the arch-rival Pittsburgh Penguins on August 15, 2005. LeClair had a fairly successful season in Pittsburgh during the 2005–06 NHL season, finishing third on the team in scoring as he passed the 400-goal mark and had his eighth 50+ point season.

The Beantown Bruins are proud to select our #3 Center, Darryl Sittler.

Born in 1950 in Kitchener, Ontario, one of eight children in the Sittler family, Darryl first played his way to prominence with the London Knights of the Ontario Hockey Association. Sittler played a determined game and the Leafs made him the eighth pick overall in the 1970 Entry Draft. He saw limited action in his first pro season in 1970-71 and had an unremarkable sophomore year. In 1972-73, he began to establish himself as an offensive star, finishing with 77 points - a total he would better in all but three of his subsequent 12 seasons in the NHL. The Leafs were in a rebuilding phase early in his career and many veterans either retired or were traded. When Dave Keon moved to the World Hockey Association, the 24-year-old Sittler took over the captain's duties, becoming the second-youngest captain in Leafs history after Teeder Kennedy

On February 7, 1976, Sittler set an NHL record that still stands, for most points scored in one game when he recorded ten points (six goals, four assists)

The big night helped Sittler become the first Leaf to reach the 100 mark in scoring in a season, collecting 41 goals and 59 assists. But he wasn't finished. During the playoffs in April against the Philadelphia Flyers, Sittler scored five goals in one game, tying the playoff record. In September, during the Canada Cup in Montreal, Sittler would make headlines again with his scoring ways. This time it wasn't the quantity but the quality and the timeliness that made the impression. In overtime of the second game of the best-of-three finals versus Czechoslovakia, Sittler held onto the puck on a partial breakaway until Czech goalie Vladimir Dzurilla committed himself and an opening presented itself. The goal secured the championship and made Sittler an overnight hero in Canada.

He should have gone a lot higher. Amazed at all the great players that are slipping to the later rounds in the draft.

Great pick btw!

That's probably due to all the guys being drafted from the last 4-5 years.

I'm seeing the same thing. I guess some are picking players they know something about as opposed to doing a little search. Credit to the posters doing the search as they seem to be plucking players like Sittler in the later rounds.

Ya, I was very surprised when guys like Foote, Regehr and Kiprusoff were going, but Bill Gadsby, Carl Brewer and Ed Giacomin are STILL undrafted.

Seems like a combination of homerism and favoritism towards players that people have personally witnessed.

That's meant I could scoop Dit Clapper, Stan Mikita, and Pierre Pilote well after they should have gone. Works for me.

Research is for sissies.

Sittler was going to be my next pick for the last 5 rounds but I kept putting it off and wondering how long he'd be hanging out there.

I'm taking suggestions for the next pick so if anyone has any ideas I'm all ears.

It might be a conehead.

Ya, I thought about that...that's why I named guys that are on my list, but they certainly aren't in my top ten at this point. Regardless, they have contributed more to hockey and were better in comparison to their peers than many that have already been selected.
