For sure, everytime they fight, I come off thinking "man, if this was a real fight, the Yen man would own them!"

Got the movie yesterday. Just watched it. As one might expect, it is historically totally inaccurate...but it is a pretty awesome movie. I would not reference this as research if you were writing a 10 page paper on Yip Man

There is some wire work, but the fights are awesome. Also, there are parts where the moves are not all Wing Chun, but I guess it need to be flashy for film.

There is one scene that I heard the real Yip Man did. He broke a gun with his hands. Anyways, it is a good movie and worth checking out for the fight scenes alone. .

Yeah, this movie is utterly historically inaccurate. It's such a nice story about his family but didn't the real Yip Man abandon his family when he fled to Hong Kong?

Gotta love these movies where everybody including the Japanese generals turn out to be martial arts masters.

Another version coming out directed by Wong Kar Wai and with Gong Li as the lead... a female student!

I don't know what to think of it!

this thread should be titled the CP Asian conference lol...

I freakin' love Donnie Yen, his fighting is actually realistic vs. Jackie Chan's comedic stunts. I've never liked Jet Li, his acting skills is even worst than Donnie Yen, and Donnie isn't much of an actor lol...

I've been a fan ever since watching Donnie in the "New Fist of Fury" TV series when I was a kid. I think GirlySports will probably know what I'm talking about.
