When I was in college my roommate started having this weird smell to her. She tried to say my cat was peeing on her clothes, but I knew that wasn't happening. Her boss told her she needed to "take a bath" before coming to work. (She was a waitress) She was bathing normally, but this smell wouldn't go away. Finally she went to the doctor to see what was wrong and he determined that she had been cooking herself by going to the tanning salon for 2 hours every single day. The smell, as the doctor put it, was her flesh being cooked. Gross. It took two months of no tanning for her smell to go away.

That's disgusting...what did her skin look like? I didn't know it was possible to go for 2 hours a day. Anyone I've ever known who's done it goes for 10-20 mins, once or twice a week.

She knew the manager of the salon and he let her go longer every day.
Her skin was pretty dark and pretty dry but not as bad as you would expect. She was a pretty girl, but ended up really fake looking with the tanning, long fingernails, bleached out hair, etc.

I'll never understand how there can be women who think this looks attractive. Of all the physical attributes guys look for, I don't think I've ever heard "I'm a tan man. Yep, nothin' sexier than a woman who is that perfect shade between orange and brown. Mmmm."

Honestly, I think its because any girl who is tall, blonde and tan gets all the attention from men. Other girls see this and want the attention so they start tanning, bleaching, etc. so they can try and attract men. It doesn't even matter if a girl isn't actually attractive, if she's got the blonde/tan/skinny package she is treated differently. I've never been tempted to alter my appearance in that way, but I understand how some girls think its the only way to meet a guy.

The cause of the fire isn't yet known, but one staff member at the salon said they had problems with the bed malfunctioning in the past.

Hmm... maybe you should talk to your lawyer first= before you talk to the media (or the cops).
I've never used a tanning bed, but after the sunburn I got in Florida once I can definitely see some value in then. It was shaped like a t-shirt, only my arms and head were pretty good and it was my torso got burnt, where I didn't have my permanent base tan to protect me.

I was just thinking the same thing. Normally, I don't even think they close all the way, let alone have locks.
I thought you just lie down in between the top and bottom of the bed, like this:
