I thought the Second Cup ones were those Bell hotspots you have to pay for?

I don't know if it's the same down there, but in Red Deer both best buy and future shop have unsecured wireless networks that they don't mind you camping on. If it's the same you could sit in the parking lot or find a restaraunt nearby and use them that way.

Two of my favorite coffee shops have free wireless: Deville in Artcentral downtown, and Caffe Rosso in Ramsey. In Kensington, I think the Yardhouse has free wireless (at least it used to), and there's apparently free wireless in Eau Claire (not sure if it's in the entire mall, or just that little area at the bottom of the escalator).

That's pretty sad how little we have in this city, and yes I think Second Cup needs you to pay or buy something to get on.

			My house, but three problems.
I'm not saying where I live.
Not in Calgary (actually an advantage).
It's secured.

I, too, would like to know the name of the iPhone app.

You'd think with the name "MoneyGuy" he'd understand the concept of free.

I've noticed a number of vendors that have open WIFI. That being said, I don't think they actually meant it to be open for customer use. Kinda dangerous as it could be leaving their network wide open to attack.

I passed the Arby's on 32nd Ave NE, just after the lights on 29th Street, and on their sign out front it said they have WiFi...not sure if it's free or not because I've never been there, but thought I'd add it to this list anyways.

Guys, guys, guys. I meant it's FREE for anyone else. If they can get into it, which they can't as it's secured. Must have gone right over your heads. |
