Anyone here know how to SEO?
I am thinking I could use an SEO to help my website get higher rankings on google. I did a search for wedding photographers on google and I am on like the 10th page!

It is a wonder the links on CP don't bump the site.
CP did wonders for Estonian Honey Wrestling

I think it's one of those things that you have to find someone experienced to do it really well.
Unfortunately I have no idea who that might be, I only know that I have no idea beyond the really easy stuff.

Google's algorithms think well of us for some reason, I find links to CP in the strangest searches.

We have a company that we use at work here, but I'm not terribly sold on them. I'll send you a pm with their details.

It is based on traffic to the site?
I'm sure CP garners tonnes of traffic which could bump the site's priority.

Maybe, though I think trust (how many trustworthy sites link to you among which a SEO guy would probably know) enters into Google's weight of how high to rank a page more.

The biggest thing about SEO is getting the link out there, preferably on high quality sites (lots of links to them).
For your niche, a quick Google reveals lots of photographers websites, as well as some "directories". As long as the directory looks somewhat legitimate, see about submitting your site to them. For example, Google lists businesses and locations in a little google maps widget. Try to see how to get listed in their business directory.
Another tip: See where your competition gets links from. You want to target "Calgary Wedding Photographers"? Search that, then try "link:MyCompetition.com" and see where they get their links.
For completeness, but not always practical, if you are targeting a term like "wedding photography", having those words in your domain is the #1 best way to get near the top of the results. If not possible, try to make your site URLs something like "mydomain.com/wedding-photography". I took a look at your site, and frankly, Flash is terrible for SEO. Consider adding an HTML version of your site, heavy with text that contain your targeted keywords.

The domain is kinda old school in my experience. Everything SEO becomes less important once everyone does it. Most think off page factors (not on your site) are more important than on page these days.
Lots of good advice in the thread, but I'd suggest you optimize for maps first - it's less crowded and will help the organic anyway - and consider a PPC campaign. You can use that to get a sense of the inventory and competativeness, as well as conversions etc. Make sure you add analytics.
Should add too - Google gives social huge weight right now.

Literally google page rank. Their tool bar will show it to you.
From the google SEO guru http://www.mattcutts.com/blog/more-info-on-pagerank/
Relevant 'Good neighbourhoods' and quality are way more important than traffic and quantity.
