I've stayed at the HoJo. They didn't have the water park when I was there (2005), but unless they built it in the parking lot or something, I doubt it's that big. I'm sure it'll be more than adequate for the kids though.
Hopefully they don't put you in the tower. When I checked in, they put me in a tower room that literally overlooked the freeway. I could have spit on the traffic from my balcony. I quickly got moved into one of the other rooms.
The HoJo is an easy 15 minute walk to the front gates of the parks, which is very nice. The restaurant across the street from the hotel (Mimi's, I think) gets good reviews from people, but I never ate there.

If you want to beat the lines at Disneyland in winter, make sure you go to the Paris one rather than the Orange County one.

Don't go to Euro Disney in Paris. It is just like Anaheim, except everyone is smoking.

How long do you have? If it's just one day, I'd stick to just Disneyland. The one day park hopper costs almost twice as much.
If you have multiple days, buy a multi-day ticket, and park-hop.

No to mention, the hypocritical condescension is palpable.

But there are no lines when it's cold. We spent more time walking through empty spaces where the line would have been to get on the rides than on the actual rides themselves. We went on it three times in a row. At the end of the day, there were more people in the Main Street parade than watching the parade!

Disneyland Paris is a very different experience than the Original (just as Disney World is different too). It has probably the nicest looking Magic Kingdom of them all (too bad it's overrun by surly Eurotrash).
If you're in Paris, it's great to check out, but I wouldn't fly to Europe just to go to Disneyland.
Also, there are no crowds there in the winter because winter in France is not much better than winter in Canada. I wouldn't want to go on Splash Mountain in Paris in February (and you can't anyway since they don't have a Splash Mountain in Paris).

I beleive that is where we are staying as well. My wife booked it, but I remember her saying something about a big water park.

1) Do NOT go to Disney land on the weekend.
2) If you kids are not over 40" they will not be able to ride many of the rides... the staff at Disney are VERY strict on this.
3) California land is much better and often less busy then disney land.
4) If you and you wife are both there there may be rides that 1 of your kids can not go on due to height. If one of you takes taller kid on ride and other still wants to take ride then get a RIDER SWITCH PASS

I know that posting other boards on here is frowned upon but I don't care. My best advice is to go to http://www.disboards.com/.
This is a forum devoted to nothing but Disney, they can tell you anything and really I do mean anything about Disney. From the parks to the movies to the....well anything. My wife is a member and they helped so much for our trip to WDW that there was so much stuff we would have missed if not for them.

Hilarious, are you taking your whole family to the Flames game and which one are you going to again?

What is that? Don't you just pay one fee to enter the park and then ride free? I looked at the disney site and that's kind of what it looks like to me. Or do you get in the park free but rides are what costs? I'm so confused now...

Just taking my 10 year old daughter to the game in Anahiem. My youngest is a 23 month old boy. Taking him to Disney Land will be bad enough. I think the hockey game would be impossible.

The only reason we are taking them to Universal Studio's is because we are planning to buy City Passes (3 days disneyland, seaworld, san diego zoo and universal passes included). So we'll probably hit curious george island and do the simpsons ride and then get out of there.

Lastly, we're kind of on the fence about lego land. We might ditch it and just add a day at the wild animal park as well as the san diego zoo.(my daughter loves going to the zoo here)

I was gonna mention the California City Pass, but looks like you're on it already. We used it a couple summers ago, and you save quite a bit.
Buy a portable GPS if you're renting a car down there. Comes in very handy. Have fun driving down there, because you'll hate Calgary even more when you get back.

^ I'm gonna second the "get a GPS" as well if you plan on driving. I also recommend you take your GPS on your carry-on and don't check it in, tons of GPS's get stolen from checked baggage.

No no y ou don't pay for any rides, but when you enter a lineup for a ride you can request a rider switch pass so that when you get to the front of the line you or your wife waits while one of you goes on and then you switch -- this is for families that have one child too small or scared to ride.

I was going to mention the city pass as well, but you're already on it. I just bought 2 city passes not even 5 minutes ago, and we're going in February as well.

No. California Adventure is pretty lame really. 2 good rides in Tower of Terror and Soaring over California but beyond that it's a waste of 60 bucks. They made it on the cheap and it really shows in the parks limitations (generic rides, small space, mediocre non-ride attractions. It would be a sweet as a section of Disneyland but as a seperate $60 ticket it's not worth it at all.

All the hopper tickets and park tickets I've seen so far have been for both parks. Disneyland has a pay the kids price thing where if you do three days it's $150 per person for both parks.

Yeah, you can get pretty good deals on park hopper tickets now because California Adventure was deserted for a while. But if you just go up to the gate and buy tickets, it will separate tickets for both parks.
