Just for being globally famous and the context of the sport he plays, Beckham I'd say would be one of the most recognised sportspersons on the globe.

Well if you believe Jesus was a real person, you'd have to say him. Then of course you could also say Siddhartha/Buddha or Mohamed, Abraham, etc. Though Jesus would probably be the most widely worshiped.
Excluding religious figures and people who have been dead longer than 100 years I might say Ghandi.

Even thats not right, there a lots of catholics in the world but there are more non-catholics!
Personly I can't even remember this new pawn's name that is the head of the catholic church, I would bet Bruce Lee's name is known to more than the current Pope.

Yeah I would say Jesus is very popular (more so than the Pope) but then again the devil is too.

J.F Kennedy
Mahatma Gandhi
Martin Luther King
Tiger Woods
Clint Eastwood
Raquel Welsh
I personally would have to pick Bob Hope, the guy lived over a 100 years, traveled to many countries with his "act", so he would have had a lot of people remember him. and as far as I know he was loved by all.
Who would you pick?
|
You could find a ton of Americans that wouldn't know who Bob Hope was. So I don't think he's a good choice.
David Beckham, perhaps.

^^^ Oh, made me think of one.
Michael Jackson. Probably the most popular celeb ever. At least pre kiddiegate anyway. But since we can pick dead people anyway I'll pick him at that point of his career.

France (After WWII held rallies with free performances) - check
China (After WWII held rallies with free performances) - check
Korean war (supported troops with free performances) - check
Vietnam (supported troops with free performances) - check
Desert Storm (supported troops with free performances) -check
I picked him and I may be wrong but...David Beckham

The original post is to ambiguous but that's kind of the nature of the question. If it's "the worlds most recognizable face" then I would list four people:
Bin Laden
Jesus
Woods
Hitler
I know I'm not answering the question but that's my opinion on face's at least.

I vote Ronald McDonald, everyone knows him and his tasty tasty fries.
btw if you say Jesus why not go bigger and say God, then you are less bound by religion and more people have heard of him.
