Default 2009 Grey Cup Tickets: FFFKKKKKKKKKKKKKK!

Just opened my invoice for purchasing 2009 Grey Cup tickets. One ticket in section V = $280.77, including GST and Facility Fee.

Section V is the blue seats with back, considered "Silver" on my enclosed "2009 Grey Cup Seating Map" Seating ticket prices, not including GST and Facility Fee, range from $295 to $119. General public prices , again not including GST and Facility Fee, range from $370 - $195.

Plus, they are not willing to guarantee that the Stamps will even play in this game, or that the weather will be warmer than -25 Celcius.

Am I missing something here, how could they possibly guarantee these things at this point in time?

I blame this on green text! Before people started using it I could easily pick up on sarcasm, now if people don't use it I can never be sure if their serious or not.

Wow, I also have a pair of seats in the Blue section (Section I). The entire season is $669.00 (9 regular season, 1 pre-season game) and $88.00 for the the playoffs (refunded if the Stamps don't host a game). Great value.

Meanwhile, for the Grey Cup game it's $561.54 for 1 game. Hopefully the Stamps make the finals. Ouch.

Obviously these Grey Cup planners haven't heard about the recession.

And yes that's sarcasm. And no I don't do green text. In fact I'm going to confession thread right now about how I despise green text.

i wouldnt pay that much for an nfl reg season game...maybe 50$. and this is the league championship....wonder how much you'd pay for hte superbowl. $280 is alot of money on its own, I paid that much to go to the grey cup in toronto in 07, was worth it, but its a domed stadium....if the stamps are in it i'd brave the elements.
the cost (for not the best seats) is likely due to the likelhood of the Stamps being in it and the limited seating as compared to Grey cup games in other cities. with these prices it won't be a quick sellout....

So if you scalped that Grey Cup ticket, it would almost cover the cost of your season's tickets.

How do you scalp a $280 ticket?

If Calgary is in the Grey Cup, I will want to go to the game. If Calgary is not at the game, then I would expect the (black) marketplace to be flooded with Grey Cup tickets.

When I opened my invoice for 2009 Grey Cup tickets, I felt as though I was dealing with the greasy Broncos guy at Stampede Station...

Yep. And you only have to look at 1993. Stamps were the defending Grey Cup champs, looking to make their 3rd consecutive appearance after dominating the league and finishing 1st overall.

They lost the western final, and I bought a $150 ticket for $50.

I was actually looking at pepper24's post.

Season's tickets - $669
Grey Cup - $561

But agreed - it is all dependent upon the Stamps making it. If it was Stamps against the Riders (crossover scenario), you could make a killing.

I need at least 2 seats. Willing to pay face value.

If there are any season ticket holders who don't want theirs PM me. I plan on going regardless as I've never seen a grey cup in person.

And I agree, a Stamps-Riders Grey Cup and the tix would rival Flames Game 6 SCF prices.
