I am speechless.

I am now more than inspired to be a better person and to do more for this world.

Wow. What a great speaker.

9 is also popular because it's the highest score you can get in baccarat.

and

6 is also popular because there are 6 bullets in a revolver.
So, what you're saying, then... is that someone who was born in 4896 would have probably won a lot of money at baccarat, but then died by way of 6 bullets fired from a revolver?

My bad. Didn't actually realize it was a poem. I'm only getting the audio on my feed for a lot of this, and I didn't notice it being introduced as a poem. Still bad though.

You see? That's why I (and many others) like him so much.

He has the ability to do the most "Presidential" thing there is: To inspire other people.

i'd be pretty impressed if anyone had a working revolver in 3000 years.

Heck. I'd be impressed if we haven't completely wiped ourselves out in 3000 years.

I like that Obama always includes the fact that the lenders aren't the only one to blame for the credit collapse. He said it here, but he also said it during the election campaign. It's nice to see a politician willing to point the finger at the people who vote for him.

Very good speech.

Very cool to watch. Maybe less for us as Canadians, but this is the kind of thing kids will ask you about and you'll remember where you were on the day of.

That's because the poem was--in my opinion--awful. Terrible. Execrable. That's my expert opinion as an English-lit guy.

The speech was fantastic, though.

huge gatherings like that sometimes make you wonder about weird things like...
how many portapotties did they have to truck in?
how bad are the lines for them?
how bad is the smell?

i mean... there's a lot of people there..

It was, it so was. I don't even know how it qualified as a poem. It was a speech with a few words like 'the' and 'and' taken out to make it more minimalistic.

And not enough colorful descriptive words either. A few thrown in here and there, but it didn't really paint a picture in your head which many poems do.

Bye bye Bush!

I'm surprised he's not going to the ball though. Sounds like he's going straight home to Texas.

lol at moon. For a while I've been thinking he's one of the worst posters on this board. His little rant about 'coolness' and peer pressure getting Obama elected just confirmed it for me.

In any event, great speech. Really moving. The rhetoric hit all the right points too - idealism vs. fear, the pursuit of wealth vs. compassion... well done! I also loved that he emphasized the constitutional and its written principles as being a necessary guiding force in hard times... and then CNN cut to Bush's face! ha ha...
