A co-worker of mine died today of a brain aneurism he had during work. I sat with him and others during coffee break on Thursday one hour before it happened. He pretty much drank himself to death his entire life, but it's still sad, and still amazing how quickly life can end.

Yeah, it's pretty sad. Nicest guy in the world. I work with numerous guys who are on the same path though, and it's so predictable.

In other news, I just found some bugs in my package of raspberries. I found the bugs only after eating at least half of the container.

I hate cab drivers who demand cash because they are lazy. My first cab driver today tried to tell me that he couldn't take credit cards because he doesn't have the machine. I flat out told him that I don't have any cash on me. He asked me a couple of times if I didn't have any cash on me, like I was going to change my answer. Then I asked him why he's got credit card logos on the window if he doesn't take them.

Somehow the credit card machine, that he didn't have, magically appeared and I paid my fare with my credit card. I even tipped him which I probably shouldn't have for his little stunt.

The system here in Shanghai is great. You can get a kind of magnetic swipe card that you put money on and can then use for all the transit in the city, including all the cabs. Whether it's bus, subway or cab you just swipe your card and your on your way. If you need more money on it you just top it up at one of the subway stations. It's really a great system.

I saw Lemmy from motorhead playing pinball in a bar last night.

People were coming up to him asking for autographs and he was all like "F--- off."

He wanted to play some pinball.

The Canadian economy isn't that bad. People will buy things, they just need a decent deal.

Essence of masculinity!

I'm a pretty hairy guy, when I was younger and more insecure it bothered me. Now I'm almost proud to have the stuff.

Just stumbled across these pictures and thought they were hilarious and that they belonged in a thread for random thoughts.

I'm annoyed that the office I'm in has nothing that I can tether the security lock for my laptop onto.

Punch a hole in the wall and tether it around a stud.

62, and he looked like he was 82. I don't know if alcoholism leads to things like aneurisms, but it can't do a guy any favours. He was driving a snow plow at the time, and pulled over because of blurred vision. Another guy he was working with has a history in geriatric nursing, and did all he could to try and treat him until the ambulance arrived. He died two days later.

No walls. Just the standard modular office dividers and desk.

I think I might be able to use my chair. I don't anyone would roll it away.

So the bank I got my mortgage through is trying to convince me that I really need to go through them to handle my property taxes. First they said that CMHC mandated it (lie) then they said that the extra $40 a month they want me to pay is because my taxes are actually much higher than the very form they sent me not two weeks ago said.

Good thing I only signed a one year term, because in one year I'll be going with another bank. And whether they like it or not, they aren't handling my taxes for me.

Does anyone else not care about Obama Mania? I don't have anything against the guy, but geez, you'd think he could leap a tall building or fly or something. I guess the whole Obama thing is a more positive political climate than the circus from hell that's about to start up in Canada shortly. Those idiots are walking endorsements for birth control.
