Well tie game now. If Baltimore doesn't do anything on this next drive I think the Titans will be able to move into FG range and give themselves a chance to win. That Baltimore defence has to be absolutely gassed right now with how much they've been on the field. They're holding tough in the red zone, but in the middle of the field the Titans are moving the ball pretty well.

Thats it Titans lose a game they dominated.
Pittsburgh and SD get to play for the chance to go to the Super Bowl tomorrow. Makes that game much more interesting.

Well that was quite a game....boy does Tennessee have feel like crap right now. Totally outplayed the ravens on offense, but that Raven defense stiffened when needed....especially in the red zone. Thats a team that tomorrows winner doesnt want to see IMO.
Now I will settle in and watch what i believe will be a complete blowout in Charlotte.

Well, I really hate the Ravens. At least this will make the game next week in Pittsburgh, which helps the Steelers.
Yes, I realize Pittsburgh hasn't won yet, but I don't think the Chargers have a prayer.

Well the Ravens offence does just enough on that last drive to get into Stover's range and the defence holds. I'll be amazed if Baltimore can lean on that defence that much next week though as that game had to really kick the crap out of them. If they have to play the Steelers next week, damn is that going to be a nasty game.

Im so glad the Ravens won, I'm dying to see a Ravens/Steelers AFC Championship Game. Ohhh man would that be a bloodfest! Probably the best rivalry in the NFL right now.

SD and Pittsburgh both have better offenses than Tennessee and Pittsburghs defense is better than Baltimore and Tennessee.
If I am either of those teams I am happy to know that you score 20 points next week and are basically guaranteed a win.
As well as the Ravens defense played today, Tennessee's offense is more responsible for the TO's than the Ravens defense.
Both the Ravens offense and defense will have to play better against whoever they face next week.

Well whoever wins tommorrows game won't complain too much about getting to be the home team in that game. I think they'd much prefer that over a trip to Nashville.

Jake is just terrible. This has got to be one of the worst performance from a QB in a playoff game.

6 turnovers by Delhomme...only one was not on him and him alone.
unreal.
So...if the Eagles beat the Giants tomorrow...the NFC championship game will be held in Phoenix. Seriously....who'd a thunk it?

After all the whining about the Cards being from a weak division, not deserving a playoff game and going to be blown out, they have a chance to host the NFC Championship. And SD has another chance to host the AFC game.

Well I didn't think the Cardinals would win this game. Larry Fitzgerald has absolutely unreal hands, the catches that guy makes are great. Warner did a good job finding guys and he got pretty good protection on enough of those crossing routes to make some big plays. Than you have Delhomme and a Cardinal team that was able to take advantage of his mistakes. I'll be rooting for the Cardinals to pull off another upset next week.

You were right!
Beware the teams named after birds. We could have three in the final four.

a) Arizona did win a weak division. Technically, Tampa Bay had an identical record, but should've been in the playoffs due to better conference record.
b) Arizona didn't deserve a home playoff game. 5th seeded Atlanta had a better record.
c) 6th seeded Philly has a better record than Arizona; so, in a fair world, Arizona would play the better seeded Giants in the second round.
The whining is because of a faulty playoff system. Just because Arizona is playing well, doesn't mean the system ain't broke.

but I thought a playoff fixed EVERYTHING!!! /bcs rant.
Look, I'm not saying that I disagree entirely with what you are saying, but if you win your division, that's a big deal....sure in this case the Cardinals had a weak division but other times maybe it's a product of several good teams just beating up on each other producing 9-7 records. As long as you have a division-heavy schedule (each team playing each other twice) you have to reward a team for winning its division.
For years people have been saying that the NW was the best division in the Western Conference and as a result of the parity, they didn't have as good of a record as some of the central division or pacific division 4th place teams, but they didn't get to play cupcake teams all year. Should the f lames/canucks have finished 5th/6th in those years because their point totals were worse than the fourth place team?

It's one thing to reward winning your division. But that is overshadowed by the fact that by doing so, you penalize other teams that perform even better.
New England, despite being 11-5, misses the playoffs to the 8-8 Chargers.
Atlanta has to play on the road, despite having a better record than Arizona. Ditto to Indy, Baltimore, and Philly.
The New York Giants have to play the tougher Eagles, as opposed to Arizona, because of a screwy playoff format. Likewise, Tennessee has to play a tougher Ravens team.
The faults in the current system are everywhere, and should be addressed.
To your point, The NHL system is also bad, but not as severe. Because of the automatic 3rd seed for division winner, it possibly encourages teams in 4/5th spot to tank to 6th, to get an easier opponent. That shouldn't happen.
Baseball is even worse, but I won't go there.

What a load of hooey.
Simply put..this team in Arizona that "didnt" deserve to be in the playoffs" walked in and kicked ass in the #2 seeds stadium last night...that has nothing to do with "seeding" discrepancies or anything else but who was more prepared.
The system is the same for EVERYONE...thats why it is fair. It is just as likely that next year Tampa or New England go 8-8 and make the playoffs over a team with a better record.
The playoffs DO fix everything because at least they get to settle things on the field and not in the silicon chips of some supercomputer that no one can figure out how the formula works...except university presidents and bowl committee members.
Like 99% of other sports in the world....games are settled on the playing surface.

Well said, and that is why every teams goal at the start of the season is to win the division and if they don't get it done too bad. Have to say I enjoyed the egg laying by Carolina last night, and if Arizona can continue to run the ball and give opposition db's a reason to hesitate, look out.
