Default Quick Ebay Question RE: Flames Tickets

Hey anyone on here bought NHL tix off Ebay before? If so, I got a question for ya. So my buddy's comin up here to Deadmonton for the Feb. 21st Flames/Oilers game, and I'm lookin for tix on Ebay right now(I've never got tix off Ebay before). I only found a couple listings for 2 tickets, both which aren't very impressive(ones in the bleeders for $200, the other's behind the net in the corner way up high for $209). I also know that the BOA is probably a tough ticket to come across, so I'm wondering if I should take it.

Anyway, my question is, is there usually alot of Ebay postings for tickets, especially for a BOA game like this? Or am I basically lucky to have even found any at all, and should just scoop em up. I dont need/expect killer seats, but I want at least something a little decent. But I also dont want to keep waiting for something better to get posted and end up not going to the game entirely. I can live with up high if its my only option.

Wait until closer to the date... and a bunch more will come up.. . you can expect to pay double to what the facevalue is. Kijiji and Beyond.ca are other places to look..... although you may not like what you are going pay.

Also... keep checking ticketmaster daily... sometimes you get lucky there.

I would agree with this. My buddies and I got tickets to Game 6, vs. Detroit during the 03/04 run on the day of. I've heard of people getting awesome concert tickets day of as well.

$200 for bleeders is nuts. I guess there's that sense of security that you have the tickets, but I would keep trying ticketmaster.ca between now and then.

Maybe even try oilfans.com. Don't tell them you're a Flames fan tho!

Resist buying on eBay. Just walk up to the gate at Rexall and do the Edmonton Jedi mind trick (fart while flapping your arms like you're flying). That should confuse them enough to let you in. Alternatively, you can tell the ticket-taker that you are there with a delivery of rocket polish for Charlie Huddy. That = instant in.

Thanks guys for the quick response! I agree that it's probably too early right now, the game's not for another 6 weeks. I'm fine with paying close to double, but ya not for bleeders. I will definitely wait and keep my eyes open.

In our trips to the US for NFL games we have bought tickets from both Stubhub and eBay. In each and every case we did spend more buying them early from those sites- but I did that just for the knowledge that our tickets were secure and we wouldn't be spending $600 on plane/hotel just to watch the game at a sports bar.

I agree that you should be able to get tickets closer to the date, and for a better price. Use all your avenues too- like be sure to have a WTB post in the ticket sales section here. (Following the guidelines of course.) Because I know if I have tickets to sell I would rather sell to a fellow CPer that I know and know will enjoy the game than just some dude at my work.

I would check it daily or every couple of days. I pretty much buy all my tickets off Ebay and usually pay just over face value for games in Edmonton. Best time to look in my experience would be about a week/week and a half from the game.
