Best Egg Rolls in the world - Golden Palace, Ottawa. They do them differently than we get out West. Filled only with meat, no vegetables, sprouts etc. People in Ottawa line-up just to pick-up bags of these egg rolls.

Deep fried egg rolls isn't really chinese food. hehe. In fact the last time i had an egg roll was with you at the Ginger beef lunch buffet. haha.

But I wont' be eating there for awhile until this gang war is over.

Hey your office is right next to Peking Garden. Better keep your head low behind the desk. hehe

They never heard of ginger beef at Golden Palace. Must be a Western Canadian thing.

We should go for lunch again soon. How do you rate Peking Garden?

I don't know if I've ever had an egg roll from there. Maybe when I was a kid but I don't remember.

If I wasn't afraid of getting gunned down, I'd probably get some this weekend. But with my lunch experience today, I've probably risked my life enough for this week.

Prob in the top 3 for calgary. They have a different menu for chinese people though. You should have a chat with them for their biased ways.

For peking duck, I'd recommend Peking garden and Central grand. The duck at central grand isn't super greasy like most places.

And as an extra bonus at central grand, you have more exit points, better sight lines of the doors, and more places to hide.

Two asians walk into a bar.

There's no punchline because there's no whites left for them to kill. I hope you're happy OP.

That is an excellent point. One of the criteria of a good Asian restaurant is the number of exits and hiding spots when the shooting happens.

You would be dead in Peking garden. They only have 1 exit and all the tables are situated too closely together. You would have to hope that someone next to you takes the bullet.

Regency is pretty good just because it is massive and it has 2 elevators and 3 staircases for quick escape. Plus they have a couple of private rooms in the back you could barricade yourself into.

Pho So on Centre has 2 main exits in the front and back but it is long and narrow. No real hiding spots.

Sun Chiu Kee also on centre has plenty of windows you can smash and jump out since it is on the main floor, but it is soo noisy in there you probably won't even notice the gunshots.

Probably the safest place to eat is that Treasure pot place right on the top of the hill at centre. Their food is so bad no real gangsta would eat there.

I'm Chinese and I have a huge extended family living in Calgary. None of them are gangsters. Although, in my generation, they almost all have post secondary degrees...in computer science. Doh!, we're the other stereotype.

The was for the term 'slant-eyed broads'.

Also, for the number of times I hear my Asian male friends complain that white girls don't like them I didn't think it was possible. Now I just to go tell them that it's because they suck.

Yeah, my entire family are on the engineering and computer science side too.

My Chinese fiancees parents love my Jewy goodness, or maybe it's all the delicious western food I cook on the holidays.

And hell yeah I go for Chinese during the holidays. No waiting!

Friends don't let friends sit with their back to the door in Asian restaurants. (Thai and Indian included )

I think I saw that movie in my youth. You should put up "Hardboiled," that was a classic

Funny. I never liked Hardboiled. Maybe it was because the setting was in a hospital. Plus I need some storyline rather than just mindless violence.
That's probably why I prefer A Better Tomorrow and The Killer over Hardboiled.
