Might be a little different from family to family and based on socio-economic scale, but for draft purposes, this is the Older generation Ranking of Tolerance
Top of the list:
- Hong Kong Chinese/Mainland Chinese* (depends on where you come from)
- Anywhere else Chinese
- Oreiental anywhere *(see exceptions below)
- Western Europeans (exception to the English) and Canadians
- Oceanic
- Eastern European (not including Baltic and Russia)
Middle of the list:
- Americans
- The English
- South Americans
- Baltic and Russia
No Go list:
- Japanese
- Africans (dark)
- Natives/Aboriginal
- Indian
- Jewish (depends on family, since I have seen happy and bad relations)
- Middle East
Modifiers:
- +10 if upper class
- +5 if middle class
- + 10 if one of the following: doctor, lawyer, Engineer, Banker, Accountant, Successful business man, Sciencetist, Banker
- -5 if occupation is in the trades
- -10 for lower class
- +5 if speak same Chinese dialect
- +10 if skilled in the traditions
- +10 if famous (Iggy would get this bonus)
- -10 if infamous, or can bring shame to the family name (Avery wouldn't do so good)
I write this as a satire, and by no means do I or my family agree with his. However, I think it's pretty accurate in terms of the older generations view of outsiders. However, as the poster above mentioned, it's a subtle but implied sense of racism

Interesting list. The order that you have Jewish and English there seems odd to me. Many asian parents and people of the older generation make no differentiation between them (or even understand that) and simply lump them in all as white or caucasian.
In other news, I find myself in the past couple days being irrationally anti-semetic because somebody sent me all these pictures of Zhang Ziyi having so much fun with her Jewish multi-millionaire fiance. BUT I STILL LOVE SEINFELD!

Nobody burns popcorn here so no complaints.

I was eating lasagna and needed a fork. I haven't returned the fork out of principal.

Seriously. In the last picture I'm sure he's paying her off to not tell everyone about his alternate meaning for "Rice Cooker".

Yeah, and in the pictures that Girlysports is alluding to, he's probably eating at his favorite asian restaurant.

SORRY!!!!!!!!!
So did you show your supervisor?
It's another weird Asian thing.. if an actress isn't your favorite then she's crap. Some feel other actresses (their favorite) should be more of a star than her. It's the whole jealousy thing.

And the whole scene is so small and everybody sleeps with each other and they are all pop-stars on the side as well.

I need some help CP, i'm confused as to whether to give this thread 1 star for the premise of it, or 5 stars for the ensuing hilarity.
Thoughts?

If you read all 14 pages and don't feel it was a waste, I'd say its a winner.

To be honest, those were a bit of a stretch based on a small sample of experiences. You're probably right and they just fit into the white category. I was going for the whole bad experience from the time of the gun boat diplomacy and Opium wars. We Chinese people have long memories

haha. no worries. Yup she saw it but I'm not sure if she is interested in skinny asian women.
Hmm I just realized that at lunch, out of the 25 people in the sushi place i was the only asian person. If there was a hit i would have been toast.

There are five stars on the Chinese flag. If this thread reaches five stars, I'm not going to be able to come in here to read it anymore.
