I Need a Little More Help, Please!
You guys did so well the last time I asked, that I'm back for more.....
Plans for our trip to Calgary are well underway. We're coming in March and will have comp tickets for the Monday night game against the Red Wings. The little guy is very excited, since that Monday, March 23rd, is also his 8th birthday! Certainly a celebration he'll never forget!!
We're planning on flying in on Thursday night and going to the dinosaur museum on Friday, then return to Calgary for the game against the Blues on the 20th.
Now the question....the QC office is talking with the Calgary office regarding tickets for the Blues game. We have to pay for those, and having never been at the Saddledome, aren't sure what to select. They appear willing to get us just about anything we want (or are willing to pay for!!)
We don't want to spend a fortune, but still want a good seat. I thought we could get the cheap seats I've read about on here, but apparently those come in 4-game sets. Is there a chance to get decent tickets that are released the day of the game? Or should we definitely buy in advance? And which levels are good/better/best? Are the black or green levels acceptable? Or could we get something much better for a bit more? We probably would like to keep it under $100/ticket if we could!
To make life easy for you, here's the seating chart! Thanks again for the help....I hope we get to meet a bunch of you while we're there!!!

I would buy in advance for sure. I myself usually buy green levels, good price point for the seats you get. Go for Blacks if price is a big concern.

I personally think the seats on the second level are the best (preferably between the goal lines, on the sides).
The first few rows are expensive (gold, silver and red 2-great seats), but the ones just back of those (white) and all the way up to the boxes, are great seats too.
The white section (on the sides) has a great view of the ice, I'd recommend trying to get seats somewhere there. I've had seats in the row just below the boxes and I'd take them over lower bowl end/corner seats anyday-and door price is almost half!!!.

The first row of the 300s are great views... and you have no obstructions so you can see the entire ice... if u can get any of those... they're amazing.

I'm going to have to disagree with you there. Those tickets are really good dollar for dollar, but I wouldn't call them amazing. If I was coming into town to see just one Flames game, I would spend the money on "White" tickets.
There is no substitute for being closer to the ice- just as long as you can still see the entire rink.

Well, considering that I spend most of my money on a flight to get into Calgary... those are the seats that I'd go for... I think the view there is amazing, especially for the amount you pay.
Having said that, if you are able to see the entire ice surface and still sit close and have the $$ to pay for it, then yes, definitely go for those

Sections 213, 214, 224 and 225 are my favourite.
Only because the flames attack that end twice and should the game go into shootouts, that's the end they use

Go for whites, or orange in the attack zone.
Definitely good for what you pay. $95 a ticket for the whites, $68 a ticket for the oranges.

Thanks....this is just the kind of info I need!
We'll be seeing two games--the Blues and the Red Wings. We're using our "free" tickets that come with the trip for the Detroit game and are purchasing for the St. Louis game.
Since we're working with the Calgary office, they've told us to give them an idea of where we want to sit and they'll get the tickets for us and charge them to our credit card. That kinda sounds to me like we can choose our location and pretty much be assured that we'll be where we want!

I too feel the value of White tickets is the best, providing you are within the blue lines. I stay away from the ends for two reasons; first, I hate looking through the netting, and second, the far goal is a very long way from where you are sitting.
Ask for Section 211-213, or Section 225-227, and you'll be between the blue lines. Row 11 is where the White section starts, and has a face value of $95 per ticket. The same price level exists all the way up to something like Row 22 (the last row on the sides). My seats are Row 13, in 212, and are about half way up the second deck.
If you can afford it, the lower in level 2 the better. In the sections mentioned above, Row 6-10 are the next price level. I think the face value there is $135 per ticket. Row 4-5 are the next price level, with Row 3-2 and 1 being the next successive price levels. Row 1, in those center sections are my favorite seats in the whole place, but they come with a $245 face value.
