By the way, that idea is AWESOME!!!!!!!!!! You should call up Samsung or Sony and offer them the idea, but they have to name it after you.
I would buy a slightly inferior or more expensive TV if it had this function on it.

Haha I learned long LONG ago ideas are worth nothing, you need to have the money to put them into place.
Here I would need enough money to start a television company...
In all seriousness I don't know why this hasn't been done, like I said, it's been available for phones for a while...
Maybe television designers are cold hearted s who get off on that kind of thing.
But onto the topic at hand... have you checked your fridge?

phones are unique to their charger
the remote on tv probably isnt same as what u use... so its not worth implementing

Its because they want you to have to buy another remote control.
If you couldn't find your phone, how could telemarketers get a hold of you?

When I'm ever missing something, it's usually somewhere where I had checked, just not well enough.
Have you MOVED the couch, furniture, etc?
What about bedrooms? Maybe makes more sense for phones than remotes but on the bed, in the covers, under the bed, under clothes. If the baby took it as you thought, it could be anywhere really. The only thing you could do is a room by room organized sweep. One area after another...
When people look for things they usually go to the same half dozen to dozen places over and over again. The trick is to escape that pattern.

Hmmm I've never had an extra remote, lol. Always just the one with the TV.
I seriously would not know what to do if I have one of those 3 remote set ups.

I think its also because the phone already rings, and a remote doesn't...another thing they would have to add. (Although I'm sure that they want to make you buy another one as well!)

Wait a minute...
Any remote that can be programmed to your TV could be programmed for that function could it not?
Course you'd have to program the alarm into a button already on your TV...
So you have channel up and not channel down...
In all seriousness I'm sure there is a way around it that is fairly sensible, even ingenious.
(Yes it'd have to ring or vibrate or glow, but that's not hard to add, half of them glow already)

A trip with $10 to MRO Electronics provided you already own a decent soldering iron can correct this problem. But unless you want to get into digital stuff, every time the phone rings the remote will too...
^^ A vibrating remote on certain channels would indeed have very relevant applications.

I sorta feel your pain KC, my remote is on the other side of the room from where I am lying down. I'd really like to watch something else, but as I said, it's way on the other side of the room. I have no clue how it got there either. Very frustrating.

Well I figured the phones do it, the controllers do it. If your making it ring you might as well make it vibe too.
I mean otherwise, what's the point?

How old is the child who would've moved it? You'll need to get down to their level and see how they see your house and where they could put it. At least you're not watching Teletubbies, that's got to be the creepiest kids show ever.
