Junky - your lead is down to 8.

I needed that shutout last night. I had been slipping down the standings.

And not to steal troutman's job, but

Update Dec 4:
1. SportsJunky 208
2. Bobblehead 200
3. Bruce 197
4. Lynne 194
4. Slava 194

Good thing Aeneas hedged and put a few side bets because I don't think there is much payout for 10th. With troutman now in 11th, that will remove some of the pain.

Even with Bobbie Lou out, no one seems to be cutting into SportsJunky's lead, it is up to 15 now.

I'm cursed - Sakic wrecked his hand with a snow-blower.

What is going on with Lehtinen?

I heard a rumor that Gaborik started skating with the team.

Yeah the boys have been hanging in there for me. I really thought I'd be well out of first by the time Luongo comes back but it doesn't look that way.

I just traded for Gaborik in one of my fantasy leagues. Not only do I think he'll be back within a week or so but I think he is going to be on fire. This is a pivotal season for him as far as getting a new contract.

Cursed???
troutman's hockey pool strategy: 1. pick players who are old or injury prone; or both. 2. wonder why players are not playing

aeneas strategy: stay ahead of troutman.

Junky: It's not over till it's over. Last year I came back from 60 points down 2/3 thru the season to win.

I have to re-think my strategy - it is high risk/ high reward. If Marion and Jere start playing, I could make a move in 2009.

Aeneas - how are all the side bets you took looking?

Until Bruce made his big run to the top, I was 3-2. Unfortunately I am behind Junky Slava and Bruce ($10 each). But ahead of troutman and eddie bronze ($10 and $20).
If the pool ended today I would be even.
But when my amazing run finally gets going I will be up $60...plus $1 from 'Junky.

OK, how does Locke, with 4 injured players (and that isn't even include Radulov *snicker*) still stay ahead of troutman and Eddie Bronze (and only one point behind Aeneas)?

In I notice there is an 18 point gap between 6th and 7th - are there only 6 teams with a realistic shot? And Sports Junky is holding on, but the 3 teams behind are within 10 points.

Edit: And troutman, you just KNEW another injury had to come when you were almost healthy.

Because I rule. Once Radulov gets back after pulling a Forsberg I will be a force to contend with.

It took a Backstrom shutout, but I finally passed SportsJunky.

Hopefully Bruce slows down - his team has been dynamite for 6 weeks.

I have fallen out of first place in two different pools in the last couple of weeks. Injuries are killing me in both cases.

I'm finally starting to build a cushion between myself and 12th place.

I can't believe you are still in 10th with almost half your roster injured/Russkied (is the Russian animal the bear? Maybe Dess was onto something).
