NHL 09 Online Problem for PS3...

I have been having this problem since the first day of online play in NHL 09. Everytime I go into "Quick Ranked Game" and leads to a screen where you and your opponent can chose a team, the problem is sometimes... MANY times.. when I'm on the away side when chosing a team it would not let me select a team... like it would freeze forcing me to exit out and re-enter a "Quick Ranked Game". I would be this repeatly till it would let me select a team, or sometimes if I was in the "freeze" if I waited enough it would eventually let me chose a team but it rarely happens. This would also happen to my opponent on the away side if I were to be on the Home side, forcing him to leave. This happens very often, and I'm starting to get annoyed but this "glitch" or maybe lag? So does anyone have this problem online either on the 360 or PS3 and is there any way to fix this glitch? Thanks.

I'm assuming you have your connection via router. Have you tried forwarding ports UDP 3659 and UDP 6000? I had the same issue, and it appeared to solve the problem of game sessions not syncing up properly.

Yeah I use a router for my connection... but I have no idea that you're talking about lol

What router are you using? If your unsure of how to do port forwarding, I would try visiting the tech support site for your router brand.

It's a Linksys Wireless-G 2.4 Ghz 54Mbps

This has happened for the last few years and continues to happen this year.
Though I'm pretty sure it has more to do with people with junky connections or people who have to download the roster updates before it allows them to connect.
You want an easy way to play a game fast?
Go to the lobbies and hook up with players there.

Kind of off topic but it is PS3 related... my NHL09 isn't showing up in widescreen. Should it be? The only other game I have is Gran Turismo 5 and it shows up in widescreen.

Assuming you are playing on a widescreen tv then yes it should be.

Thanks, I figured it out yesterday when I tried to watch a movie. I just had to play with the Aspect on the TV. For what ever reason the movie and NHL09 were defaulting to 4:3 but Gran Turismo is defaulting to widescreen. Kind of a pain. Maybe I have something set up wrong.
