Wrong..... NCAA>>>>NHL Hockey......... especially in terms of going to the games.... My wife and i had this argument when we first met and sure the saddle dome is loud and fans for the most part are into the game but its 23,000 fans..
|
The bolded part is no mare than your opinion...as is it his the other way.
As for attendence to games...its apples and oranges as of course 90,000 make more noise than 23,000 or 20, 000 as is the case in Calgary.
But if you want to go that route...OK has 6 home games a year maybe? At 90K a piece thats 540,000 people.
Calgary had 790,849 in the regular season last year...not including pre-season and playoff games.
So what does that prove?

You see, it does matter during the regular season to play well, as you are rewarded with chance to win it all at seasons end.
College football....not so much since it only comes down to two clubs even having a chance to win it all.
|
Now you're just out to lunch.
What you're telling me is that an NHL game in December has more of an impact on winning it all than a regular season NCAA game.
In college it matters a hell of a lot more to play well...win all your games and you'll be there almost every time.
I don't really have

What does your opinion of NHL hockey vs. NCAA football have anything to do with it?
Either way there's a lot people with vested interest in the teams playing in bowls before January 8th, but apparently they don't count. Just because you don't care doesn't mean there's tons of people who don't either.

Are people just in a bitchy mood today? Jesus.
I was responding to a question about why I would watch the Flames game tonight.
And you go off on me.
I never said people didn't have vested interest in the bowl games. I was speaking for myself. I did say earlier there are a lot more people out there like me though. For what its worth.
Oh, and my opinion on NHL hockey vs NCAA football has EVERYTHING to do with why I will watch the Flames play every game this year and why I won't watch a single bowl game until the 8th (if I even watch that one).
Unreal.

Nope...didnt say that at all...but well done.
i said that tonights game is important in that it goes towards making the playoffs...something that todays bowl games as an example...do not do.

Laughable.
Tell that to Utah this year...Boise St of years past, Auburn just a few years ago.....None of em got a sniff of "being there almost every time". They didnt get a single opportunity to win it all as a matter of fact.
I guess I will go and enjoy my lunch since im out there now...as you put it.

unranked (but full of talent) LSU is putting the blocks to #14 G-tech right now. 35-3 at half.

I did catch the last 5 minutes of the insight bowl tonight by default. Kansas wins back to back bowls for the first time in school history. The Bill Snyder family tree of coaching continues to shine.
Just wanted to be honest about my bowl watching since some are so touchy about my stance.

i was simply saying that because of the number of fans at the game it just made for a more exciting atmosphere than at the hockey games at the dome. I mean if you have been to the dome you have to admit that for aself admitted rabid hockey canadian market that the dome is quite tame and quiet..... unless the flames score... thats all....... as for the game itself , i think hockey is football on ice ( not saying this as a negative thing because i love football) but a lot faster and usually a lot more entertaning to watch.....

I think (hope) that LSU has found it's QB of the future in Jordan Jefferson. Since 2009 is an odd numbered year, the SEC West is LSU's to lose...
Charles Scott is the most NFL ready RB I have ever seen at LSU. Better than Faulk, Addai, etc.
Their defense/special teams really showed up to play tonight.
3 turnovers on downs, 1 INT, 1 fumble rec., 1 onside kick recovery, completed fake punt late in the game. Wow.

No, I don't agree with you but your opinion can't be wrong.
I was clearly giving my opinion asI was asked why I was going to watch the Flames game last night.
As for your last line, I don't even know what that means. Are you 12?

penn state looks to be able to answer. Great game so far. without a couple dumb penalties, it could be 14-0 lions. 7-7 at the end of the first quarter.

USC is just dominating PSU, pretty much confirming what i have thought of PSU all year... They were a decent team in a weak conference but no where near close to an elite team. Can you imagine if this team made it to the Natl title game??? That would have been a dissapointment

yikes, SC putting the blocks to em now, 31-7 at half. dominant. penn state with some of the most dumb and untimely errors to compound the massacre.
