Carroll College loses NAIA title rematch, and first game in the last 29.
Bad sports weekend for me so far. Can a Buffalo blowout of Denver be far behind?

This happened a couple weeks ago but I thought I would point it out. UT Longhorns are now the 2nd winningest program in NCAA Football behind Michigan.
1. Michigan 872
2. UT 831
3. Notre Dame 830
4. Nebraska 816
5. Ohio St. 807
And who knows with Michigan's program still in disarray and UT having a plan of succession UT might pass Michigan in 10 years. Although there's no guarantee Muschamp is going to be good. I also believe Michigan will rebound next year, at least they better hope they do. UT should be able to extend their lead over Notre Dame in the next year or 2 pretty easily.

I dont want a playoff. this isnt the pros and I love bowl season. Its better than what it use to be when you had a chance at co champs. Because if we had a playoff that would make the Texas vs tt and oklahoma less important knowing that your in the playoffs. I hate watching nfl in week 16 or 17 when a team like the titans have it clinched and they dont play the starters. Is that fair for the fans that paid all that money to watch the star sit? nope.
NO PLAYOFFS!

And for each of you, there are probably 10 of me who won't watch a sinlge minute of any bowl game until the 8th.
Talk about boring.

wow, not such a bad year for the pac 10 after all. Zona, Cal and Oregon all bowl winners already, OSU playing today and of course USC. this could end up being a great bowl season for the conference. good stuff.

Then why bother watching the Flames game tonight? It doesn't mean much of anything in the long run either.

because they are playing for a playoff spot maybe?
You see, it does matter during the regular season to play well, as you are rewarded with chance to win it all at seasons end.
College football....not so much since it only comes down to two clubs even having a chance to win it all.

I've only watched one bowl game so far and it was Boise st vs TCU. Most of the match ups don't interest me. Now a playoff would make the season mean more and I would watch every playoff game. As of now the only other game I plan on watching is the Sugar Bowl.

Because NHL hockey >>> NCAA football in excitement level.
Because I have a vested interest in the success of the team.

big win for houston over a good air force team. the cougars first bowl win since 1980, though i'll never forget the crazy '03 hawaii bowl they lost something crazy like 54-48 or something. houston is a program that is getting better every year.

This oregon state/pitt game is crazy. it's 3-0 beavers with 6 minutes left in the game! defensive showcase/offenses ineffective.
EDIT: Done, the beav's win 3-0, the pac-10 is 4-0 in bowls.

Wrong..... NCAA>>>>NHL Hockey......... especially in terms of going to the games.... My wife and i had this argument when we first met and sure the saddle dome is loud and fans for the most part are into the game but its 23,000 fans.. The university of oklahoma has 90,000+ in a stadium to watch a game and its die hard fans not a bunch of suits who buy the good seats to say that they are at the game..... A typical College football game consists of more than just 4 quarters .... if there is a 6 pm kickoff, the games for most fans start at 10-11am and there is tailgating and people just living up the college football atmosphere. Then the party contiunes after the game as well.. Dont get me wrong, i love hockey and watching the Flames play. It is an exciting game but sadly the atmosphere at least at the saddle dome isnt that exciting.. sure its loud when we score but its usually quiet comparatively speaking... I mean nothing compares to 45,000 people yelling BOOMER and the other 45k yelling SOONER while the stadium shakes with vibration the whole game ...
