				 Boxing Day Thread

I got a few things on my list I am hoping to find good deals on. I think I have read almost every flyer posted on redflagdeals.com. Maybe we can help each other in this thread to find these deals! Here's my top 3.
Here are the flyers: http://boxingday.redflagdeals.com/
Projector - for slideshows and presentations. One that is good enough to watch movies and play video games too. Anyone know of a good one?

Harmony Remote - It's about time I get rid of my collection of remotes. I am eyeing the Harmony 670 at Future Shop for $99 ($160reg). It looks like a good one for PVR owners.

Blu Ray Player - I can't decide if I should go with PS3 or get a stand alone. If the price difference is small, I'd rather get a PS3.

By the way, most online retailers are jumping on the early Boxing Day sale thing this year. Future Shop starts at 6pm our time.

Yeah I've got a few odds and ends to get, some Christmas gifts for people that I won't be seeing until later on, will order their gifts and save a few bucks.
There's some Blu-ray players for $169 and $199, which is enough less than the PS3 that I'm considering it for the living room TV, but will probably hold off.

I'm picking up the $50 MS Office Home for my mom, and a memory card.

Pretty limited this year though, there are some pretty good deals though.

re: cheep blue ray players: I've read that the low end ones aren't very good, and not really worth buying. Anyone know what to look for that sets the good apart from the bad?

			^^^^^^^^^^^^^
There was a post about a week ago talking about the diff between good Blu-ray and POS blu-ray. The jist that I got (and im not expert) is that there is blu-ray 2.0, which enables more special features through the ethernet (I believe the Dark Knight was the first one to support this) and also differnt output in sound quality. Like you can get DTS 7.1 on one model and DTS 5.1 in lower end ones... stuff like that. I would imagine if you are a low end HD kinda guy, and dont have a expensive get-up, the el cheapo model would probably suffice. But then, so would a DVD player cause you dont get what HD is
Someone PLEASE correct me if I am wrong, I hate talking outta my ass.

^^^ Naw, I think you are right.
There is also the amount of time they take to load and such. There is a thread on it in the Tech forum I think.

I've heard the best budget blu-ray player is the Panasonic BDMP35 or something like that. I also heard this 2.0 isn't a big deal unless you have a really nice surround sound system. I'm inept unfortunately on blu-ray technology I'm trying to skip it as DVD's are fine for me.

Both the Bestbuy and Futureshop sales seem disappointing to me. I was hoping to pick up NBA 2K9, FIFA 09, and Tiger Woods 09 but all three don't seem to be on sale.

I am waiting for both Futureshop and Bestbuy. Currently at 0%. Hopefully I get something...what is everyone else picking up? I am getting CoD:WaW for $40 and a Home Theatre in a Box for $300 (probably crap, buy oh well), and then at FS I am getting an iPod car thing fro $20.

Well the quantity left on everything hasn't moved, so that means that no one is getting out. I guess wait and see. Same old same old.
