I have the entire week off after that.
I'll need it.

My guess is they want the dolphins and jets to play the same time as the pats and ravens games so, that way the Jets can't throw in the towel if the Pats and Ravens win because the jets will not make the playoffs if that happens even if they win.

Yeah sorry my bad. I forgot about the head to head game. If the playoffs ended this very second then Dallas would be the #6 seed and play the Vikings.

What a day, funny to see teams fold under pressure like the Jets, Eagles and Broncos, really looking forward to the Broncs/Chargers game next Sunday night. The atmosphere at Ford Field had to be the worst in the history of pro football, it was like the Saints were playing a bad division 2 school, cripes the Saints scored touchdowns on their first six possessions and were on the Lions 30 when Thomas fumbled and ended the streak.

Panthers miss a 50 yard FG with 5 seconds left in the 4th and now it looks like the Giants will win it in OT..........they are at the Carolina 2 yard line.
TD......Giants win.

OK...the Giants are again the best team in the NFC.
What a crazy season this has been.
That's a big win though.

It was pretty funny to see Ward, Manning, and Jacobs waiting to be interviewed after the game....Manning in the middle assuming that he'd be the one to be asked the questions.
Then you can see that the interviewer must have said something, because Eli eventually shuffled out of the way so that she could speak to Ward.

I can't believe how badly the Jets are falling apart, you may as well replace the J with an M. Looked like the team to beat in the AFC a month ago, & have now dropped games to San Francisco and Seattle of all teams in the past three weeks(and were a lucky break removed from losing to Buffalo). And now it looks like they won't even make the play-offs. Unbelievable how quickly things can change!
On a side note, I can't believe that there could be an 11-5 team miss the play-offs in both conferences, while two 8-8 teams may get in at the same time. Ridiculous.

Can't say enough about that guy and him instilling an expected tradition of winning from those Dave Krieg 8-8 meh teams I watched growing up through the 80's and 90's every Sunday on TV.
Make no mistake though, the Jets lost this, more than SEA won. Hopefully this last spurt continues to keep SEA in a decent draft spot (albeit a weak draft by all accounts) and doesn't trick Mora into thinking Wallace is irreplaceable as backup next year.
Esiason on CBS took it personal after the game about Manjini's decsion making, and made some "told you so" quip about Pennington while pimping his NYC radio show and how Manjini as going to get lit up on it tomorrow. Pretty unprofessional.

Attn: Aaron Rodgers... It is up to you to complete the perfect season. If you lose to Detroilet, Jim Rome will be a basketcase.

Pretty remarkable turn around seasons by the Ravens, Falcons, and Dolphins this year. Seriously...unless you were a fan of one of those teams did you see any of them winning 10-11 games and being in the playoffs? I sure as hell didn't. Pretty impressive stuff for those three organizations.
Man the Chiefs are bad...I think they really only get their arse handed to them 3 times all year. In all the other games they either had leads or a chance to win/tie those games but didn't get it done. I think there are some talented players there, but hopefully with a new GM and coach they'll bring in someone who can push them towards more wins.

They need a defensive line so bad. The game Sunday was pretty typical. Get a lead, blow it late. The D-line has the worst pass rush in NFL history. The opposing QB has all day to find receivers. Makes it really tough on the defensive backs. They eventually wear out.

Yeah, that defence really missed Jarred Allen badly this year. I think Dorsey will be okay on the line as D-Tackle isn't a position where rookies step in and excel at right away, and I think he was injured for part of the first half too. Recently the Chiefs had been much better against the run. But the fact that the Chiefs have zero outside pass rush really killed them. Any team where the QB has all day to throw the ball will make adjustments and find a way to kill you in the second half. Thats what happened to the Chiefs for the past 8-9 weeks where they have been competitive.
No doubt given the power of hindsight....I wish King Carl would have quit last year, let a new GM come in and sign Allen, than trade the 5 pick down for more picks in the draft to try and make up for the picks received in the Allen deal. At least Brandon Albert looked good as the year wore on. But I think I'd be looking to either trade down in this draft or if there is a beast of a Defensive end draft that guy.

The Saints offered up their first and second round picks for the 5th pick in last season's draft if memory serves. They really wanted Dorsey with him being an LSU boy. At the time I was hoping they would take it. They still could have drafted Albert, and another offensive lineman. Since O-line was viewed as the biggest area of weakness after last season.

They just explained why they moved all games to when they did and it all makes sense.
The above scenario is correct...in that even if NE wins an early game, the Jets can still get in if the Ravens lose.
The big question was why the night game was SD/Denver when the NY team was still around...but again thats because of the fact that game could be moot by 7:15 EST.
Its unbelievable to me that Arizona will mak the PO with the way they have performed of late. That was just ugly yesterday.
And San Diego and denver...yikes. Gotta think the Bolts have motivation to win that thing after the blown call in week 2 or whenever it was. And Denver flat out have choked away 2 opportunities to make this game meaningless....gotta be a bit somber around that facility today.
i HAVE to cheer for the Jets to get in as it improves the compensatin for the Packers on the Favre deal...though I dont like their chances. Again...choked away two good weeks to secure their spot...ugh.

And on the flip side, who saw the Chargers, Seahawks(I know injuries played a big part of it) and Browns being so awful?(I can't believe the Chargers may still make the playoffs). The NFL has to be THE hardest league to predict year in and year out, this happens every season.

They should have moved the Lions-Packers game to prime time. THAT'S the game everyone really wants to watch. To see history made on the frozen tundra of Lambeau Field - the Lions make their mark in the record books and go perfect!
I think most predicted the Lions to be somewhere in the 5-11 and 9-7 mediocre range, but this season has surpassed all expectations. To go 0-16 you have to find different ways to lose every week. They have certainly managed to do that! The most bizarre thing about it is that they were 4-0 in the preseason... I'll bet that feat is never repeated.

I'm a supporter of changing the playoff format to include the top 6 teams regardless of division. The fact that Arizona is sleepwalking yet secured a playoff spot (at home, no less) because SF, Seattle and STL are terrible is silly. Diddo with the Broncos and Chargers.
