Now that I think of it, maybe I grew up ghetto style. I have also eaten many "Chef" boy-ar-dee spagettio sandwiches and "scrambled hamburg and vegetable soup" sandwiches as a child. In retrospect, maybe that is what ghetto people eat when sloppy joes are considered a little too high class.

While in New Orleans last year I had a 'Po'Boy' sandwich. Deep Fried Oyster is what I had. It was Damn good, and we ate with them within 500 feet of the Ghetto, but at 8 bucks, a little pricy for true ghetto...My personal favorite sanwich could be classified as ghetto in Mexico... The humble Quesadilla.

Tortilla
+
Cheese
+
microwave for 1:15...add Salsa if ya just got paid.

Throw some sliced dill pickles on that bad boy and that equals pure awesomeness. Yum.

agreed. their cheese sauce is disgusting, and all the other sandwiches hold no appeal for me. but the plain ol roast beef sandwich with arby's sauce is the best fast food out there

I used to eat sardine and potato chip sandwiches (have to be salt & vinegar or dill pickle flavour).

My favourite sandwich of all time is olives and cream cheese. Kind of ghetto IMO.

1. Canned spaghetti on toast. Okay, not a sandwich, but close enough.

2. take two soda crackers, butter, press together - have the butter squeeze out the little holes. Eat. Repeat.

Straight peanut butter sandwiches for me. No jam. I used to take about 6 of these to work.

That's more like Hobo than ghetto.

Reminds me of the time I saw the homeless person on the bus eating a handful of sugar packets he had just taken from starbucks.

This was a favorite of mine as a kid. But I would add in strawberry jam.

Texas toast smothered in cheeze whiz, topped off with a generous amount of sliced pickled jalapeno peppers, then the other slice of toast, also slathered in cheez whiz.

Hmmm, never tried this. Sounds kinda good.

Nobody's mentioned butter, cinnamon and sugar on toast.
