Some good suggestions so far, thanks.
As for the sweater, she would definitely not feel obligated to wear it. She would feel obligated to point out the sweater sucks and then tell my dad I did it on purpose. She's horrendous.
My Christmas gift last year from her, a pair of gloves... that were two different sizes. I am thinking about regifting them to her.

EG, you should go to your local MP's office and get her one of those free Canada flags. They're high quality, made to be flown on a flagpole. They're about 6'x3'. What can she say about that? Unless, of course, she's not Canadian.

Do the regift.. So when she bitches about them being two different sizes you can mutter something along the lines of "what kind of moron would buy gloves like that"?

Well since it's clear that she's not fond of you either, how about a big portrait of yourself or yourself and your dad on a frameless mount?

That's a great suggestion.
My ex just told the kids he won't even be here on Christmas day. Since they don't come to visit him till late in the day anyway, and his wife's kid doesn't come either, they are going to go to New York.
Sad to say, but I think they are secretly relieved.

Hey EG, does your dad's g/f cook? Why don't you buy her something like a bulk container of nutmeg or something? Lol. I just stopped at the wholesale store and bought my little sis a 4 liter jug of Franks Red Hot. Of course, she'll actually like it and use it... She'll probably be looking for more by April.

I got them a Kodak one. Their digital camera and associated software is Kodak, and I know they know how to use it (they had me upgrade it when I was home in the summer), so I don't think they will be too intimidated.

Go to the dollar store. That way when she opens her gift she knows that you hate her because it's such a cheap gift, but at least you made an effort.
They have all kinds of cheeeeeaaaaaap crap there. Fridge magnets would be AWESOME.

Gift certificate to a restaurant or tickets to a play that your dad loves (and she hates )

That's brilliant. She does cook a lot, thinks she's five star.

I need help with getting a present for another family. My roommate from Toronto, his family is great and I've stayed over there in his home in Toronto numerous times upon their (and his) invitation, and a few times, upon my request. I need something that shows my gratitude, looking at somewhere under $150 (No wine as they don't drink). If it makes a difference, they're Italian.

Then how about oven mitts with the insulation taken out? Oh, and if you could get them in mismatched sizes that would be great too.

Or both. And bring some lettuce, pepper, a red onion, some cherry tomatoes, and a big bowl and make a salad.
