ugh, like $500 for reds and whites. We had to get the logo made etc... worth it though. We're always told how good they look by refs and opposing players

Cool, Socks too? I think ours were $120 for both jersys and socks.

EDIT: are those rbk's too?

and they kick some major ass!

I can't remember if they were included or not... either way, the jersey's aren't RBK, they're something else. They're a little heavy, but they feel good. The socks are the RBK, I think. But they're starting to tear. A guy on our team has a billion spares of them that he sold to the team for $5/pair. I think they are old flames socks, cause they're all stitched up from rips etc. But the new ones were like $60/pair... ouch. Expensive team to play on, but now all we have to worry about is league fees.

That's the one thing I never liked about the NCHL, friggin half the teams wear black and white practice jerseys. That , combined with the fact that 4 or 5 players on every team didn't have a jersey and just wore whatever jersey they had, made it feel like a sunday pick up league imo.

Good game tonight, Mayer. I believe I may have been a bit over my head skill wise with you guys, and I only took 1 penalty... so I guess that's a positive.

Sweet video, Jayems! Just one question: how do you "lose handily" while scoring 5 goals? They must have been scoring a goal in every shot you didn't use!

I currently play for the Spartans of the D division of the New England Senior Hockey League, Metro Boston. I'd post jerseys, but... they're green and say New England Senior Hockey League on them.

I'm actually looking for a rec league in Calgary for next fall. If anyone has any advice on that, I'm all ears.

No, I don't think you're over your head. As you saw we have a decent variety of skill from top to bottom. I think you fit in. I notice you didn't really make any mistakes and were for the most part always in position, so really what more can I ask from a spare? And think, you were a part of our first shutout win. That's pretty sweet

If you liked playing with us let me know and I'll message you again when we need a guy or two.

Fred (league organizer) tries hard, and he's reasonable to deal with, but I don't think he's got the organizational skills to manage the number of teams in that league. I'm pretty sure he also organizes 2-3 other smaller leagues at the same time.

We got out of AllCal after playing there for 5 years. Too many late ice times at crappy arenas (although nothing compared to the NCHL times), missing time keepers/refs, mis-scheduled ice times (or canceled ice times without notification), more than a month delay in getting the website standings/stats updated, etc.

The league we're in now is great. Three divisions of around 8 teams, good ice times, very organized. There's typically no more than a 1 team turnover per year though, so tough to get in to (with a long waiting list).

Winter: Div 1 SASM
Summer: Div AA NHCL

Not a bad league, but the guy organizing things is somewhat disorganized (no time keepers for some games, no scores posted for weeks).

We've been playing in the division C/D of the NCHL for a few years now, and this winter is our last. The ice times are a friggin joke; I think we have 2 games all year before 10:30 at night. And this is after paying the premium package, which supposedly ensures 50% of ice times on or before 10:30.......which means 49% AT 10:30. the rest as late as 11:45. I wouldn't recommend ANYONE gets into this league.

Probably going into HNA or the SASM next year. Barring that, I'll stick with my 3 noon hour games a week in the oilpatch. At least I get free pizza.

We'd intended on havin unique jersey's but the company that was getting them for us kept changing the price and kept delaying up until a week before the season started so we went out and did it that way, I think in our division (E South) we're the only team that has just plain jersey's plus we bought 3 or 4 extra jersey's if we had any subs play for us atleast we'd still have a team look, other than the fact I think half our games have been between 11:00pm and Midnight I have no complaints.

Anyone else play out here?

I play at 8-Rinks, ASHL Weekend Div. 9 (Sting Rays) and coach a women's Div. 5 team (Penguins).

My summer team (Div. 6 - Goalaholics) won our league last year too..
