Default Treating a chinook headache - suggestions?

It seems odd to be talking about a chinook wind given that it's only -9 or so outside, but this one has really hit me for a wallop. I feel like crawling under my desk and pressing down hard on my head.

Just wondering if anyone does or takes anything that helps relieve the headache.

I've been using Extra Strength Excedrin lately for my migraines, they seem to work really well. They have like 65 mg of caffeine in them which makes them work fast. They make you feel a little loopy the first time you take them, but I like them better than the Liquid Advils I used to take.

Headaches caused by pressure fronts (ie Chinooks) are common as hell in Calgary, what with us being so high up and having such low atmospheric pressure.

This can be ailed by the use of anti-histamenes, commonly used for allergies.

Reactine is a good brand for 24-hour non drowsy relief.

suck it up princess...

If you can, get acupuncture. My wife does acupuncture and if I have a bad enough headache that I just don't want to deal with, she'll stick a couple o'needles into me and I'll soon forget about my headache.

Whenever I have a migraine like headache, I go visit my chiropractor -- she adjusts my neck and that takes care of the migraine...

I use advil liquid gels, and if the headache is really bad, mix them with rapid release tylenol. Caffeine (coffee, tea, chocolate) can also help. Theres also a couple of pressure spots at the base of your skull on either side of your spine that you can try to massage. I had a friend who would have me lay back while they held my head up by putting fingers in these points. After a little while something in there will relax and you'll sink down a bit. Feels a little weird, but helps relieve the pressure sometimes.
