Default New Year's night in Calgary

Hi all

I've lived in Calgary for the last 5 years, however, every New Years me and my friends would meet the New Year in some place other than Calgary, as we, being from Europe, feel like New Years is not celebrated and is as big of a deal in Canada as it is in other countries...

This time most of my friends are going to Cuba, but me and my 1 friend can't go this time...so we decided to spend it in Calgary. Now we are both 23 and single, so we were looking at some good places to go to spend New Year's eve at some place where there would be lots of single ladies...We kinda looked around and there is this singles New Year's eve party at Metropolitan for like 300 singles which looks interesting...then there is Whiskey's New Years night bash or something, but we are kinda sick of Whiskey and clubs like Tequila Roadhouse etc... other than that there is not really much going on....

Has anyone spent New Years at Metropolitan before? How's is the crowd there and the atmosphere?
Is there any other places that you would recommend going to? Just looking for some opinions....

Thanks

Maybe that's why she didn't move around a lot.

Well, I can't say what the Met is like on New Years Eve, but I can tell ya that I hate it the other 364 days of the year. Its a very pretentious business crowd, with people who think they're the shat cause they work downtown. Drinks are overpriced, food is not that good... I don't know, there's not much I like about the place. I only go when I know someone from work is going to expense the bill.

Anyways, who knows it might be better for NYE...
