The wife, myself and the cat will be distributing a Christmas CD to our friends and family instead of Christmas cards. We are aiming to have a collection of holiday songs that are either humorous or part of a kick-ass Christmas movie. I am looking for some suggestions to help fill out the album. Before you mention it, yes I do know there is a version of Run Rudolph Run by Lemmy from Motorhead and Dave Grohl and no, I'm not allowed to include it.
Currently we have:
1. Little Dealer Boy (Colbert Christmas Special) - Willie Nelson and Stephen Colbert
2. Jingle Jingle Jingle (Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer) - The claymation Santa
3. The Chipmunk Song - The Chipmunks
4. Silent Night - Jingle Cats
5. Can I Interest You in Hannukah? (Colbert Christmas Special) - John Stewart and Stephen Colbert
6. You're a Mean One Mr. Grinch - Thurl Ravenscroft
7. Please Be Patient (Colbert Christmas Special) - Feist
8. Up on the Housetop - Jingle Cats
9. Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas - Kermit the Frog
I love the amount of Colbert Christmas Special songs! I almost laughed myself into tears watching that the other day. I'm rocking the soundtrack on my iPod right now. How about It's Christmas Time Again by blink 182? It's about going psycho on your relatives at Christmas. And totally agree about including Christmas is All Around, I'm watching Love Actually tonight to get into the Christmas spirit!

you MUST have the classics, like some Boney M, maybe Mary's Boy Child...or David Bowie and Bing Crosby, Drummer Boy/Peace On Earth
and I highly recommend the Relient K Christmas CD. You've never heard Christmas done like this. I mean Hallelujah Chorus with screaming vocals, heavy guitars and drums? Awesome
cheesy stuff: how about Six White Boomers from Rolf Harris? Paul Brandt did a really cheesy one called Christmas Convoy, ripped off from the original Convoy song. And what would Christmas be without Bob and Doug MacKenzie's 12 Days of Christmas. (a beer!...i-in a tree)
one last thought, for a rarity that is weird, but good, how about Herb Alpert and the Tijuana Brass? They did a whole instrumental album of Christmas songs done with a heavy Mexican flavour.

Reason: one more thought

The Colbert Christmas Special was actually the reason we came up with the idea. If any of you haven't seen it you must do so. I even advocate stealing it because I have no doubt that after you view it you will go out and purchase it.
Awesome suggestions so far from everyone. Keep 'em coming!
