I think we're in for another Sugar Bowl ass-whopping like Hawaii last year
I am also worried that Bama is going to get beat bad. Utah is a very good team. Alabama should be able to hang with them for 3 quarters after that who knows.

gugstanley is a Utah fan so I would guess that he is most likely joking and having some fun at the fact that everyone is "underestimating" his team or is dilusional and thinks that Utah can actually compete with a BCS school.
I am a Utah fan and must defend them. My guess is that almost everyone on here hasn't seen them play this year. Alabama is a scary team but I don't see a blowout. Utah has a solid secondary that will allow them to concentrate on the run.
WIth a month to prepare it should be a good game. Wonder if Florida's coach will share his info with Utah. Those coaches are friends.

Texas got jobbed twice... i know everyone is high on florida but look at florida and texas .... whose loss is worse in that one??? I for one would have loved to see a red river rematch in the title game ... that way my sooners could put the kilbaush on this stupid texas whining
I would love a playoff but I firmly believe that the ONLY team that has been 'screwed' by the BCS was Auburn in 2003 b/c that team went undeafeted. Texas lost a game this year, as did USC, if they take care of business, they are in. A lot of people forget, they left it up to the polls and computers.
One really nice thing about the current system is it make the whole season really exciting: the Florida - Bama game, Ohio State -USC, Penn State - Ohio State, Big 12 south every week this year. Every game matters, even playing Oregon State in early October or Iowa in November. This really makes for great games during the season, I wonder how the playoff would change that. If they keep the numbers low, 4 up to 8 teams max it would hopefully maintain the importance of the regular season, which I really like right now. The current system demands a team to be excellent, which I like, winning a college national football championship is probably the toughest championship in sports, your team can almost never have an off game.

utah can play D
Utah nose tackle is 245 lbs...Bamada is 365....that is just one example of the discrepancy of the two teams and a michrochasm of the differences in conferences.
Anything can happen in one game obviously, but I see an annihalation of Utah in this game.

i still say that the '01 Ducks got jobbed by the BCS. they should have played miami. oh well.
Tebow's numbers don't compare to McCoy and Bradford.
Two horse race.

The Montana/James Madison game will be on ESPN2 tomorrow (FRIDAY DEC 12), as well as ESPN360 if you happen to subscribe to that service. Starts at 8 EST.

40 TD's rush/pass vs. 2 INT is nothing to sniff at.
Bradford, McCoy, and Harrell could cancel each other out to a degree.
Plus, those guys didn't give "the speech" after their loss...
I'm not saying it's going to be Tebow, but don't discount his chances.
Yeah, the two horse race comment was a bit much. Let's just say, I think it should be a two horse race.
I'm not sneezing at Tebow's numbers either, don't get me wrong.
Junior, Junior and Sophomore. McCoy has already announced he'll be back but it would be nice to see the other two back as well just for the quality they bring to college football.

As it should be....people that see the ridiculousness of the BCS and can do something about it...are.

"In some years the sport's national championship winner was left unsettled, and at least one school was left out of the many millions of dollars in revenue that accompany the title," Barton said in a statement released ahead of the bill's introduction. "Despite repeated efforts to improve the system, the controversy rages on."
That's the kicker IMO. As long as those who control the BCS (ALL the power conferences and their lackeys) are allowed to hide behind "traditon" and the com[plete falsity that the regular season IS a playoff system, then you have to hit 'em where it hurts. In the pocketbook..and as soon as the "system" is proven as unfair, it will be dismantled quicker that Tower 7. THEN we will see how much money is really in play as it screws the tradiotional bowl games...but I guarentee those same games will embrace the PO system quicker than you can say "more for us".
The transparency of the BCS "bigwigs" is abominable.

He said the bill - being co-sponsored by Reps. Bobby Rush, an Illinois Democrat, and Michael McCaul, a Texas Republican - "will prohibit the marketing, promotion, and advertising of a postseason game as a 'national championship' football game, unless it is the result of a playoff system. Violations of the prohibition will be treated as violations of the Federal Trade Commission Act as an unfair or deceptive act or practice."
Seriously? The wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, major economic recession, genocide in Darfur, and congress is working on a playoff format for college football? Absolutely ridiculous waste of taxpayers money.
