I scored some sweet tickets. 2 tickets to the Women's Gold medal hockey game, 2 tickets to one of the men's semifinal hockey games (the early one, so most likely not Canada when Canada makes it that far), and 4 tickets to the opening ceremonies (the cheapest seats).
I wonder if I could sell my four tickets to the opening ceremonies for 2 tickets to the men's gold medal game. Hmm....

Yep, if you log into your ticket request account, it tells you what tickets you were allocated.
2 tickets to the womens ice hockey gold medal game and 2 tickets to the closing ceremonies for this guy!
None for the mens hockey, which is disappointing...

They finally sent me an email today with the events I got into - the OEP package worked great! I just wasn't willing to risk spending all that money for medal round tickets and not seeing Canada in there. Not for that kind of money anyways.
Mon Feb 22
Ice Hockey Women's Playoff
Tue Feb 23
Curling Women's Qualification
Tue Feb 23
IH040 - Ice Hockey Men's Qualification Playoff
Wed Feb 24
Speed Skating Ladies' 5,000 m Final
My picks were predicated on hoping to see Canada at least play, even if it wasn't the medal rounds. We'd better make the qualification rounds!
Hopefully this will make up for only having seen the ski jump during 88.

What is a qualification Playoff?? Is that the relegation round? or if there are tied teams after the preliminary round??

I hereby predict that, should Canada make the Gold Medal final, a ticket to said game will become the single most expensive ticket to a live event ever.
Currently, the most expensive ticket I can find was a pair to see the Led Zeppelin show in 2007 which sold for £83,000.

Well, no tickets, but that's OK, there should be some other opportunities to get tickets later.

Damnit all. I put in a request for 27 tickets. I got 0. Absolutely nothing. I can't believe it. $4700 ticket request, $0 result.
I'm enraged. So much for the once in a lifetime experience (twice if you were old enough to really enjoy/understand 88. I wasn't.)

Unfortunately I have no clue what an "Ice Hockey Men's Qualification Playoff" game is exactly, I can only hope it'll be late enough in the process to see medal contenders in it.
Packages had priority over single event sales, they stated that right up front. Were those of you with like 30 events requested were doing single event requests or packages?

Yeah its actually kind of scary how much a couple of tix for the Gold Medal game will go for, especially if it is against the Russians or Americans.
I think you could see a set of 4 go for 20K each.

8 events requested, zero granted
I heard through the grapevine that they gave priority to all the packages, so if you tried going for popular events in isolation, no dice.

OEPs were the way to go
Yes, the OEPs were the way to go. I had three packages and got alll of them. 4 individual requests and got only one. All requests were in pairs.

I'll trade you my 2 women's gold final and 2 additional opening ceremony tickets, and future considerations for your 2 men's gold final.
At least with the women's final it's virtually guaranteed that Canada will be there.
