Shouldnt they be busy paddling their ice floes back to the mainland or making quilts or something?

<---- that is what I usually do when old people use the computer
Then half an hour later I go show them how to turn it on.

I remember the time I had to teach my grandma how to use the computer. I swear it took me 15 minutes just to get her to understand the clicking function of the mouse. I know we love them and all, but frustration city to the max.

LOL, watching old people try to double-click is hilarious.
Way too slow.

I've heard there is a great new program for seniors that involves spitting and a finger up the pooper.

Even my mother has problems using the computer. I try to be patient with teaching her how to properly use a computer but sometimes its just frustrating watching her click the mouse 400 times on the IE explorer icon and state that the internet is broken.

The words that identify the fact that my husband is having problems on his computer are.....
"Is your internet down?"

That's a kick-ass 640x480 display she's rocking.
Unfortunately, her desk is not set up very ergonomically. If she keeps using it like that, she could have some back problems when she gets older.

The one thing I was going to do if I ever set up a computer for an old person (and I almost had to once) was set everything up to eliminate double clicking. Also customize the desktop so it only had 4 or 5 icons on it.
The other thing to make sure you do first is get them playing solitaire. The reason it was included with Windows 1.0 was so that people could get the hang of using the mouse.
