He's not awful, but yea when it comes down to it, he's not a winner. Hard to tell for sure but It seems as though he's signed his contract now he just does what is nessesary to get by. When can get you wins in Sept and Oct, but not in the winter.
Can you picture Peyton Manning going to an all inclusive in Mexico during the bye week in the playoffs? He just doesn't take his job seriously enough.
He's also on a soft team, when Tuna left and Phillips joined them they became one of those teams that is referred to as good on paper. They just don't have that look where they are willing to grit out wins.
Niners beat the Jets. May be worth getting Sunday ticket again!
From what I can tell, the stat that sayis it all was Time of Possession: SF 39:49, NYJ 20:11

Don't the Pats have the tie-breaker vs. the Jets? More points head-to-head? And the Dolphins should have the tie-breaker vs the Pats?
From the bottom of that page:
AFC Playoff tiebreakers
N.Y. Jets earns the AFC East division title along with the No. 4 seed based on head-to-head against New England and Miami (2-1 vs. 2-2 for Patriots and 1-2 for Dolphins).
??? ...so going into this weekend, the Falcons held the tie-breaker over Dallas for the final play-off spot. Today both teams lose...and now Dallas has it?? Must be due to Atlanta losing to an NFC team today, thus evening theres' and Dallas' conference records. Only thing I can think of...
From the bottom of the page:
Dallas earns the No. 6 seed based on conference record over Atlanta (6-4 to Falcons' 5-4).

In the division Jets are in first due to their better record vs the AFC. First tiebreaker is head-to-head record, followed by divison record, then followed by conferece record.
The media darling throws a pick and the Steelers will win.
Most overrated player in the NFL...and he's pretty good. But the media has just gone berserk with this guy.
Bolded for emphasis. The media love affair with him is worse than Brett Favre because at least Favre has the ring and the records. I don't think there's a quarterback in the league that's done less with more.
Romo benefits from having a terrific supporting cast and playmakers all around him and he still finds ways to lose.

Agreed. And I'd take it even further than that, it seems to be the team in general. Considering the competitive teams they've been fielding the past six years, its amazing that they still haven't won a play-off game since their last Super Bowl win 13 seasons ago.

I'm not sure the Cowboys are that soft. That defense pounded Pittsburgh on their own turf. They sacked Ben a bunch of times and that goalline stand when it was 13-3 was brilliant.
But when the defense is on the field the entire game because the awful QB turns the ball over SEVEN times (twice on downs), there's only so much they can do.

Nice win for the Saints, nice to see Payton finally trust Pierre Thomas to do the actual running between the tackles that the Saints have so desperately needed this season. Matt Ryan is really good.
Location: Chiefs Kingdom, Yankees Universe, C of Red.
Exp:
How is everyone doing in their fantasy playoffs? Pierre Thomas came up huge for me. The thing that could hurt me is starting Cotchery (1.5pts) over Vincent Jackson (18pts). I have a 10 point lead heading into tonight with Matt Bryant kicking. My opponent has Barret Rudd on D and Steve Smith playing tonight. Could be tight. I had a 33 point lead, but Ed Reed put up 23 points for the opposition last night. That really hurt.

Missed the playoffs, comme d'habitude :P

I didn't make the playoffs in one pool. I just couldn't get any consistency.
One I just got eliminated. I had a poor week (only 3 players got me over 10 points, and one of those was my waiver wire pickup - Shaun Hill); my opponent had an exceptional week and would have defeated anyone in the pool. (D'Qwell Jackson had 12 solo tackles, 3 shared tackles, 2 picks, 3 passes defended for 24.5 points where D guys usually average 4-8 points with a big week being over 10 points)
The third, I'm winning, but I'm not a huge fan of it because it goes right to the final week (2 weeks for each the semis and finals), and I think the last week is usually too big of a pile of to decide a league champ.

My autodrafted team looks like a lock to win this week....unless John Kasay can get 30 points. And even with a subpar performance by Eli, I still pulled it through.
MJD came up huge for me. (Thanks to DFF and Oilfan for their input)
In my points pool, I dropped to 2nd, but I've still got Bryant and Dunn tonight.
I think I've got my first round game against AaronSJ in the bag, in the Calgarypuck A league. He didn't set his lineup though. He may be MIA, had Plaxico starting.

Peyton Hillis out for the year with a torn hamstring.
Tatum Bell might as well book his seat on IR. You know it's coming.
