Our street belongs to a homeowners association. We pay to have our lawns cut and snow shoveled

We got that snow yesterday up here in Deadmonton, enjoy! But it was so warm yesterday that it turned to rain by early afternoon, which continued into the early evening. You can imagine what the roads were like. I almost considered leaving my car at work, pullin out the hockey skates from the trunk and gliding my way home. What a mess.

Actually lost power for about 2 hours. I have to admit it was one of the best couch naps I've ever had.

All dark and quiet with snow gently hitting the window.

Wish I didn't have work tomorrow and could hit the slopes instead. Why don't we ever get dumps like this on a Friday or Saturday?

It's bitterly cold outside, I just tried.

West coasters pride themselves on the 'warm winters'...After living here 4 years I can confirm that is straight up BS. The moist, cold wind cuts through you like a cheese knife.

I specifically took the Passat out today which has Nokian WR2's on it that we put on in the fall.. I agree, huge difference!

22 and partly cloudy here. I'm going to do the outdoor lights on Wednesday when its a cozy 27.

I'd actually like winter to arrive at some point. They just blew snow in the local mountain resorts but I don't think its going survive the warm temps this week.

Yes my decision to buy winter tires this year felt good on Sunday and even to a lesser extent this morning. Traction is a wonderful thing.

Yup I must say, they worked great on the Mazda 3, if I had my crappy old tires on I wouldnt have made it out of my driveway.

Jolinar, I hope you've solved the mystery of the missing extension cords. Supposed to be -26 overnight Saturday, and -17 daytime high on Sunday...

Bumpity bump... Friendly reminder... Tomorrow is your last chance to dig out the extension cords while it's still relatively nice. Gonna be fricken cold tomorrow night (friday night) and onward for the next 4 days at least. I, for one, welcome our -30 overlords. Actually, no I dont. But I suspect I'll be holed up in my apartment all weekend, scared to go outside and battle the cold. Boo-urns, after tomorrow's game, no Flames action until Tuesday. Oh well, there's always FPAG and CP.
